The Barber That My Family has chosen as a Favorite is Patricia Lee Colburn! I came into the barbershop today and Patricia was very personable! She told me to get a ticket because it was so busy I didn't think I was going to be picked so quickly. I get looks all the time for my sons behavior so this was nothing new to me but for my sons reaction he wanted to run right out the door soon as he got his number being that we still had a little wait to go. This wonderful barber notices how stressful it was for him, and right away I get looks for his bad behavior I literally love this barber for calling us next right away, he's non verbal so she knew right away How to Make him Feel Greeted welcomed. She even explained to him everything that she was going to do and how long it was going to take.

I visited The Penton House Barbershop on a Friday just before date night for straight razor shave…read more The location is great on 9th Ave and very close to Bayfront. There is free street parking and the street is fairly low on traffic. The inside has a nice feel and the area I was in felt like a traditional American barbershop shop. It felt nice and comfortable and a place you can feel at ease. The chair was very comfortable and fit me well. Amanda greeted me at the front reception area with a smile and escorted me to the chair. We talked about the service and what she was going to do. She shaped up my side burns first, the my beard and mustache, and finally a little eyebrow touch up. The eyebrow trim was a nice touch and a first with a shave. She then moved on to the shave. A hot towel was used with normal warm foam and of course a straight razor. She went over my entire face with expert ease. After done she did another hot towel and a nice wood scented aftershave. I had no irritation at all. A quick look in the mirror and touch and it felt good. I returned home and asked my wife to check me out. She gave me the touch test and agreed it was a good shave. One thing to know is that Amanda does smoke. If you are hypersensitive to smoke smell it might off putting. It did not bother me, but it as noticeable. Overall solid shave and a great place to visit. I will likely return for another shave.

Makes it really easy. Option to pre-pay online makes it even easier, but you can wait to pay at time of service as well. They offer you a drink while you're waiting although I've rarely had to wait when I have an appointment. It can get busy, so highly recommend booking, but they will try to accommodate walk-ins when able.
