From the beginning, Damien was responsive, accessible, prepared, and respectful of our time. He made a sincere effort to work with our schedule rather than expecting us to constantly adjust to his. When Damien said he would call, meet, research something, or follow up, he did it. We never had to chase him for answers or wonder whether our questions and concerns mattered.
That consistency gave us confidence that Damien truly wanted our business and was prepared to EARN it. Once our home was listed, that same level of professionalism and effort continued.
What impressed us most was that Damien's responsiveness was not simply part of a sales pitch. He maintained the same level of attention, preparation, and follow-through throughout the entire transaction. He anticipated issues, explained our options clearly, kept the process moving, and represented our interests with confidence. Selling a home can be stressful and deeply personal, but Damien gave us the reassurance that an experienced professional was protecting our interests at every step.
Damien also understood that our home was not simply a property to unload as quickly as possible. He respected its value and developed a strategy intended to achieve the right result--not merely recommend an unnecessarily low price to produce a fast and easy commission. His recommendations were thoughtful, supported by the market, and always explained clearly. Most importantly, his strategy delivered: we received our full asking price.
Our experience with Damien stood in sharp contrast to some of the other interactions we encountered during the process. I was perplexed by the lackadaisical approach of some real estate professionals. In multiple instances, rather than making a reasonable effort to connect with me or mutually accommodate our schedules, I felt as though I was expected to continually pursue them and work around their availability. I would make an effort to schedule a meeting or continue a conversation, only for there to be no follow-through. And then they wonder why they missed out on a listing--a real head scratcher!
Those experiences raised an obvious question: if communication, availability, and follow-through are lacking before an agent has even earned the listing, what should I expect after signing an agreement?
Damien was the complete antithesis of that behavior.
My advice to all homeowners: never feel obligated to select an agent simply because that person is a friend, relative, or longtime acquaintance. A personal relationship does not automatically guarantee responsiveness, availability, accountability, market knowledge, or professional follow-through. A listing should never be viewed as an entitlement or repayment for a personal relationship. It should be earned.
Selling a home may be one of the largest financial transactions of your life. You have earned the right to interview multiple agents, ask difficult questions, compare strategies, evaluate how each professional communicates, and choose the person you believe will best protect your interests and work well with you.
Pay close attention to how real estate professionals treat you before receiving the listing. Are they responsive? Do they follow through? Do they make a reasonable effort to work with your schedule? Do they demonstrate that earning your trust and business actually matters?
Damien did all of those things--and then backed it up with results.
We are extremely grateful for Damien's work, guidance, patience, and commitment. He conducted himself like a true business professional from beginning to end, and we would confidently recommend him to anyone preparing to sell a home.
