We stayed in a cabin not far from Floyd and stopped here to get some steak and potatoes. For 2 filets that were 2 inches thick and about 10oz each, we only paid $18. We thought for sure for the price that the meat would not be good, but it was amazing. Fresh and tender. We were able to get all the staples we needed too. The employees were really helpful and loved their fun personalities. The only thing they don't sell is alcohol just as an FYI, but there are plenty of stores nearby that do. We can't wait to go back to the cabin and will for sure be shopping here again. read more

Staff& service are Wonderful! Never any complaints here but September 7,2023 I purchased 3 containers of spaghetti salad& it was sooooo extremely salty& heavily seasoned that I trashed it all.Also the mixed berry& pistachios muffins were hard& so very dry! Slaw always great as usual but the above mentioned leaves a lot to b e desired.Very disappointed Muffins have been ok in the past,I'm thinking that these were maybe not changed out for awhile .A long while.Sorry for the negative review but it's honest at least. I'm not sure where the good reviews are coming from. We bought 2 ribeyes here and they were literally the worst quality of meat ever 100% not a ribeye. Not even sirloin quality. These were AWFUL. The whole store smelled like bad fish, I guess this should have been our first sign. I hate to say this but honestly worse quality than the local food lion. Please if you are from out of town bring your own meat. read more

We love this supermarket. It may not have a big, modern store atmosphere but I'll take the country pleasantness any day! Their meat is so good and well priced and the produce is country fresh! Staff are always willing to help you locate something! This supermarket beats all of the other big names and deserves the 5 stars. Keep up the good work...we're willing to drive. read more

I LOVE shopping at Slaughter's! The staff is always super nice, present, and helpful. I have never had a time that someone didn't approach me and ask if I was finding everything. They will even take your groceries to your vehicle for you! They will also order whatever you want that they may not have, and will even order cases of food to help stock up for a snowy winter. The store is efficient and always has everything I want. I can't imagine shopping anywhere else for groceries in Floyd! read more

Slaughter's Supermarket is one of the last of a dying breed - a small, family owned business. How do they compete with the big boys? They have their own butcher shop, and they offer the highest quality meats, cut to order, at competitive prices. They offer Galaxy brands in addition to name brand groceries, and they have specials that undercut Food Lion, Lowe's and even WalMart. Their staff is always friendly, courteous, and they will bag and load your groceries in your car for you. Slaughter's carries unique items that I can find no where else. In addition, they have their own deli and bakery. Oh, the heavenly smell of fresh baked bread! I give Slaughter's Supermarket my highest reccommendation - I advise everyone in the surrounding areas to try them. We have a big tourist trade here, being next to the Blue Ridge Parkway, and I always steer them to Slaughter's. There is no better store for hundreds of miles around. Please give them a try - you will be happy that you did! read more
