Do not go here. They get you to go to their office for 5-10 minute conversations repeatedly so they…read morecan continue collecting from you and insurance. They charged me to pick up equipment that I now believe was available during the prior visit. Results could be given via a portal like other doctors but of course they want you to come in. They included incorrect information on my medical records and I am left to deal with that. I went here because my dentist suggested them but I should have connected with my primary care physician about sleep apnea first.

My biggest complaint is with Vanessa, who should not be placed at the front desk to greet anyone,…read moreand is the picture of incompetency, and uncouth in her demeanor. What was the substandard criteria to hire her? I personally believe she behaved in this manner in hope that I would not come to this facility, because her behavior and lack of manners screams that we don't want your business, nor do we care. I should have seen the red flag when I was sent a link to submit documents from this office, and for days, I could not get this app to work. I would complete the information and then it was supposed to send a code to access the documents, but it would not arrive until hours later or the following days and didn't work.  I went through this ritual for days, and had contacted the office and was told I could complete the paperwork on my visit, but I would have to come into the office an hour before my scheduled appointment. I completed the paper work in office, which took me almost an hour. Prior to all of this, I had spoken with a gentleman and conveyed I would be paying by cash, which he did not say anything about having a credit card or another mode of payment. Of course, if there was a bill, I've always pay by a money order. On the form itself, it gave you the option of payment. (I do not carry my credit card as cash is my preference; hence, I selected that option. Vanessa called me several weeks later to notify me that my insurance sent their approval for a sleeping monitor device; however, in the middle of our conversation, we got disconnected. (or perhaps she hung up)  I waited for her to call back, but she did not call me back. I did call her back after I realized that I didn't think she was trying to call me back and I left a message stating I did not know what happened with the call. Vanessa called back the following day. Vanessa conveyed that I should look out for a link that I "must" watch prior to coming to pick up my device. After getting off the phone with her, I realized that she did not tell me as to when this email or link via phone would be sent. I called her back to find out when I might expect this video link, as I wanted to ensure that I viewed this video as per her instructions. Vanessa stated that I should look for it over the weekend. I had spent the entire weekend checking my email numerous times, but to no avail. Even this morning (12/13/2021), before I left my home, I checked for this link, but nothing was sent to me. Please keep in mind, I had my Schedule at work so I could go in this morning to pick up the device. I am paid hourly; hence, I got up at 5:30am so that I could make up for lost time. On arrival, I had mentioned to Vanessa that I had not received anything, and she states, oh, I'll just bring it up on our device here. Keep in mind, I wasted a lot of time over the weekend looking for a link that was never sent. At no time did this lady (I use that term loosely) apologize for any inconvenient.... nothing. After viewing the video she brings me this form that states they want my credit card on file. I stated to her, why wasn't this stated or said to me previously, and I do not have it on me. Keep in mind, at no time did this office convey that having a card on file was mandatory. I said to her, what am I supposed to do now? She looked at me blankly and stated they need something on file before they could release the devise. Needless to say, I was beyond angry and I left the establishment without saying another word. How did she get hired, and how does she maintain her employment with this type of non-chalant attitude. I am still in shock on her dismissive behavior. Just incredible, and a sense of arrogance on her behalf. So unprofessional throughout this entire process. Again, I honestly believe from the get go that they didn't want my service; although it makes absolutely no sense! I don't understand why her demeanor and lack of professionalism from the very start. A waste of my time (literally hours) and my money. If this is the best service you provide, your standards are beyond low! I will NEVER dart through your door again, and I will continue to make a cacophony about this establishment. I believe dogs are treated with more courtesy than what I received from Vanessa. Shameful and pathetic!

SleepMed to me, is and during my few visits was quite confusing and possibly not run the way I…read morethink it should be. To begin, I was referred to SleepMed from Midwest Sleep Physicians regarding some sleep apnea and health issues. I'll spare you the major details, but I needed to get a sleep machine to help me out during the night. What I didn't know and what was confusing was SleepMed is in the same building as Midwest Sleep Physicians and even shared the same lobby and at least up front office staff. I didn't know SleepMed was a separate business until after I picked up my machine and everything got submitted to insurance. That's when things went a bit haywire. I came in and picked up my hardware and a woman working in the office showed me how the machine works and how to change out parts. Cool. Unfortunately when everything was submitted to insurance it was rejected because the practice wasn't included in my insurance network. I called into my insurance company, confused saying that I had no issues with my office visits and my sleep study and wondering why they were suddenly balking. I tried calling the SleepMed office however nobody would return my call, so I picked up all my materials and brought them back to the office. Here, upon talking to the staff, I learned that SleepMed and Midwest Physicians Group were different companies because medical doctors aren't allowed sell and dispense medical equipment (I may not be 100% correct what this last statement, but this is pretty much what I got out of it.) Anyway, moving on because insurance companies are so easy to work with, since SleepMed was out of network, there was a special way to submit their items for payment with my insurance company, so that they would be paid. This process wasn't followed when my claim was first submitted, which isn't the biggest problem, but could have been easily solved if the office manager would have timely returned any of my calls. Instead I got a bit of run around and then a little grief from the staff for walking in and asking what was going on. I wasn't looking for attitude, I just wanted answers. The big lesson here is, make sure you talk to your doctor about your newly prescribed equipment and ask for different options to choose from. Also, don't take your doctor's word for it, please call your insurance company and make sure you fully understand what is authorized and what you are getting. It might save you a big head ache.

I...don't even know where to begin with how asinine this situation is, in my book. They submitted the claims to our insurance company within the month following each appointment, and each time, our insurance company replied that the charges weren't covered. All within a month of the claim being sent in. So why we're now being billed 22 and 18 months LATER, respectively, is beyond me. When I showed the bills to my husband, who was their patient, he said, "Yeah, I don't think that place is very good at anything." i.e. he wouldn't recommend this company for your sleep study/sleep assistance. I have a call in to the person noted at the bottom of the bill for questions, so hopefully, she'll be able to give me some answers relatively quickly. I'm all for paying whatever amount we owe that is due. But I just don't understand where these charges came from, and why it took them so long to submit them to us for payment. It's a sign of an irresponsible company, IMO.

At my first consultation with Dr Bhat, I was impressed because he actually listened to me patiently as i explained my sleep issues as well as how i was feeling daily (I didn't know how much was related to my sleep so I said it all). After some discussion, Dr Bhat developed a plan for me to do a sleep study but also assurred me that he could help me. Within a short time, I was on my way to healing with the use of the latest CPAP, and after the first night of use, I had the best sleep ever!!! After a few weeks, I now have more energy, NO fatigue in the afternoon like before, clear and focused mind, apnea under control, and NO Heartburn since i started using the CPAP. A CPAP my not be for everyone, but I have full confidence Dr. Bhat can diagnose what is needed. I would highly recommend Dr Bhat to anyone that has sleep issues. He really does care about his patients well being and it will be apparent after the first visit. At this time, I have so much more energy with 5-6 hours of sleep, something I never had before. Thank you Dr Bhat!!!

I had my first appointment (via a telehealth appointment - THE option his office provided) with…read moreDoctor David Cocanower through his business, Ultreia Health, in January 2026 for sleep apnea and insomnia. Initially, I was very impressed by Dr. Cocanower's knowledge, communication skills and guidance regarding my sleep challenges. He established me with an Rx for a CPAP machine and I had an in person appointment with him to get the CPAP machine, set up the machine with proper settings & finding the mask that would work best for me. From this point, my sleep apnea management went down hill from here. As I experienced challenges with adjustments needing to be made on my CPAP to maximize effectiveness of the machine, it became very difficult to communicate with Dr. Cocanower regarding my very IMPORTANT issues regarding resetting my CPAP to more effective settings. I communicated my concerns thru his office staff but got the impression that Dr. Cocanower was not very invested or interested in follow-up CPAP management for his clients (and with me being a new CPAP user of just a few months, this was VERY UPSETTING!). I ended up having to rely on one of my other physicians who personally used a CPAP for years to coach me on making the necessary setting adjustments to my CPAP machine to bump it up to the level of proper support that I needed! Unbelievable. Then in May when I was placing a CPAP replacement parts supply order, I called the Ultreia health office with questions - one very important one regarding possibly trying a different style mask to achieve a better seal (I was struggling with my CPAP & I understand that the RIGHT mask is CRITICAL). At this point I was told that Ultreia no longer had a physical office open and the status of Dr. Cocanower's sleep business was up in the air! Therefore, I was unable to try a different mask on in their office and samples were no longer available for me to test a different model. AND if I were to place a replacement parts order, I would now have to pay shipping; in person order pick ups were no longer available. It was explained that while Dr. Cocanower had closed his physical office, he was keeping an office staff member on to work only out of her home. Despite the fact that this office staff member encouraged Dr. Cocanower to allow her to send out a correspondence to all patients regarding the status of his "dissolving business", Dr. Cocanower refused to allow her to be truthful with his clients. Basically, Dr. Cocanower has GHOSTED and ABANDONED his patients/ clientele and is hiding out while his one office staff member is caught in the middle, trying to iron out this s*"t show that the Doctor has created. On top of all this, despite that I've met all of my 2026 out of pocket insurance expenses, Ultreia Health has overcharged me $38 + for supply expenses that were covered by my insurance. Granted the amount is not large, but it's now nearly 2 months past the date of the EOB and I'm being told that the business is unable to credit back the overpayment to my debit card that they have on file... in fact I was told "for you to get reimbursed, Dr. Cocanower would need to write out a physical refund check and I don't know if he'll really want to do that". Seriously! I've now reeached out four different times to attempt to get my refund (phone conversations, email, company website for supply orders and finally leaving a voice mail at business phone that is not answered on August 11th). This turn of business is completely unprofessional and unexpected (I only discovered it bc of a call I made asking about a supply order that I could now only have shipped and be charged for delivery - which sounded VERY fishy). From what I understand, Dr. Cocanower is trying to sell his client base off to another company - but who knows. My advise, get out and run as soon as you can ro a reputable Sleep Management physician. Dr. Cocanower's business practices are dishonest and deceiving and he has NO INTEREST in the well-being of his patients. He hasn't given anyone a heads up to get the chance to persue a new, very necessary provider. What a terrible shame! I've NEVER experienced such a medical scam in all of my 62 years of life
