Nothing over the top great, certainly nothing negative, just consistent. And for any business traveler, consistent is good. Room was clean, a/c coldish, breakfast bar as usual. Again, consistent. The only negative comment was the internet. So I will say that the weather was stormy bad all evening and morning and I kept getting an SOS on my phone which meant, if I understood correctly, my iPhone was not in an area my provider is - Verizon. And, have never stayed here or in this area, not sure how to gauge this. And, BTW, yesterday was the solar eclipse and we were a bit east of its path so there's that. If in the area again and in need of a room, I'll certainly stay here again.

When you're in Center for anything, it's either this one or the Hampton Inn. Since I've been doing IHG a lot because of work travel, I'm inclined to go with hotels like this. Pretty standard: clean rooms (majority of the time), a comfy bed, fresh towels, workout rooms that need updates, and hit or miss breakfast depending what day it is. I'm in Center at least once every 24 months for my job so I'll be here again at some point in the near future.

When the manager talked to me via the phone, twice, there was no apology and when I went to explain my position, the first time I kept talking over her and she accused me of being hostile, the second time she started yelling at me. Both times I handed the phone back to her assistant, not interested in an arguement, just wanted to ensure I wasn't paying for something I didn't contract for. Instead of handing me something that says that I was not staying - a copy Of the document I signed with a hand written note and signature; an email; just something - but the hotels response was a threat to call the police. Had the best experience at Hawkeye Hunting Club!…read more The lodges themselves are incredibly clean and very comfortable. There is a fire pit, pool, and a pretty lake that we looked out on. I'm not much of a fisher, but I think that was an option too. I enjoyed watching the birds around the lake. As a new bird hunter, I knew very little about the gun and bird hunting in general. Our guide took us to their five stand and taught me all about gun safety and proper techniques, making me feel comfortable before we went anywhere near any real birds. Once I felt comfortable and confident, we had an incredible experience in the fields bird hunting. It was so beautiful to be surrounded by rolling hills and tall pine trees. The bird dogs were very well trained (and very cute!) and our guide was the best hunting guide I've had. The food was great and we enjoyed the service and experience. Whether you intend to hunt or not, Hawkeye is a great place to enjoy an escape from city life for a weekend. We had so much fun catching up with our friends by the fire at night. Couldn't recommend it more!

But I asked for a room with two queen beds, plus extra towels and blankets, and the staff was quick, kind, and able to accommodate everything I needed. The room itself was very clean -- same with the bathroom. I love that they use Dove soap, and my kiddo loved the lotion, which was a nice touch. The beds were extremely comfortable; we were out cold within a couple of hours of getting settled. There were plenty of outlets for all our devices, which is always a huge plus. My only small complaint was the TV -- the bottom of the screen was shaky like it might be going out. We only used it to watch the game before bed, so it wasn't a big deal. Breakfast was good, service was great, and overall we had a comfortable stay. I would definitely stay here again.

The only drawback is the small gym with limited equipment & no hand weights. You can do cardio, but impossible to do proper strength training with what they have. We had 2-queen bedrooms. NO CONNECTING ROOMs, although it's noted to be available online. Our bedroom & bathroom were reasonably spacious & stocked with basic toiletries. We really liked the breakfast options. Although the dining room is small, they have more variety of breakfast totems than most places (even the more expensive ones).
