After terrible experiences with dog kennels, I found this company and have used it several times. I love that my dog is in someone's home and receives plenty of exercise and personal attention. The process is unique: First, you call the company and tell them which dates you'll be gone. They ask a series of questions to determine which host best fits your dog's needs. Once they find a host who is willing to meet your dog, the host calls you to set up a "meet and greet." For the meet and greet, you bring your dog to the host's house and spend time getting to know them. If you both agree that your dog can stay at their home, you call the company to confirm the dates and make your payments. At every meet and greet I've been to, the hosts have asked me a lot of questions to get to know my dog better and to make sure that they uphold the rules my dog is used to (whether or not he's allowed on furniture, in the kitchen, etc). They also have practiced walking him and have shown their genuine affection for animals. The families that my dog has stayed with are wondeful. Jennifer periodically sent me text message updates and Toni made a dvd of my dog enjoying his time at her house! Barbara spent time talking to me over the phone to give me updates of my dog's antics and tell me how much she and her neighbors loved him. My dog is high maintenance in that he cannot be around other dogs and must remain on a leash when he's in the backyard because he jumps walls. All of the people who have watched him have agreed to this, and two who I met decided that they were not the best home for my dog. I sincerely appreciated their honesty, and that Sleepover Rover's continued to look for a host for me. I highly recommend this service. I used Sleepover Rover for the first time two weeks ago. Family was visiting including young children and I feared they would be scared by my two dogs, a Bernese Mountain Dog named Jake and a lab mix named Sophie. I had never placed them in a kennel and was pretty sad about having to do so for the first time. I then came across Sleepover Rover which arranges for pets to be housed by certified folks in their home. We were directed to contact Rachel Zoet and arrange a visit to see the conditions under which our dogs would live while away from us. We met Rachel and her husband Bert at their home. They asked all kinds of questions about what our dogs were used to doing and how they interacted with each other. We lef feeling very comfortable with Rachel and Bert and dropped off Sophie and Jake a few days later. They lived in the Zoet home for a week. To say we were pleased with the service provided by Rachel is a huge understatement, Not only did Rachel care for our dogs as if they were her own, she went out of her way to keep me up to date that they were fine. Texts, emails and photos arrived every day showing Jake and Sophie playing with Rachel and her family. Any anxiety I had about leaving my dogs in the care of others was quickly relieved. We picked up two very happy and content dogs. They were never caged. They wee able to socialize both with humans and Rachel's two dogs. They were happy and healthy. The cost to care for pets is high no matter the facility you choose. For my money, no one will ever care for my dogs when I cannot except Rachel Zoet. I would be happy to discuss my recommendation of Rachel and Sleepover Rover with anyone considering them. I was happy beyond any expectation with the service they provided. When we adopted our dog, I was in charge of finding dog boarding so we could still travel when we wanted. I searched the internet and found Sleepover Rover and we've used them ever since. Setting up sleep overs is very easy on their site and the staff is very friendly and easy to work with when finalizing payment and details over the phone. We have used two different homes for sleep overs and both have been great. Both have an adult that is home, a yard for exercise, and hosts that love our dog almost as much as we do. Our boxer is a big dog who loves walks and playing. He gets to stay in the house, sleep on his own bed and get to hang out with people all day. The cost is pretty equivalent to boarding facilities and their hosts are located in many different parts of the Phoenix/Mesa/Chandler area, making it easy to drop off and pick up our dog. Sleepover Rover will attempt to match you to a host and you get to meet the host before you decide on a sleepover. This allows you to meet the people in the house and see where the dog will be staying. Once you find a host that works, you simply schedule the service and make the payment. Some of the hosts will even call/text you with pictures of your dog or stories about the silly things they do - just like grandparents! I cannot say too many good things about Sleepover Rover - they have really been a great company that provides a wonderful service. read more

We have used Sleepover Rover on multiple occasions in the Chandler/Phoenix area for dog boarding. I am taking the time to write this review because it is a service my wife and I highly recommend. We have told friends and family about this company but that only goes so far. Since I use Yelp on a consistent basis I thought why not write a review of Sleepover Rover and how nice it is to pick up your dog and know that they were happy while they were under the care of Sleepover Rover. The way it is set up is perfect, you and your dog have a preliminary meeting with the prospective sitter. You can see where they will be staying and talk to the person who will be watching your dog BEFORE you leave your dog there. If it does not seem like a good fit, pick someone else. Sleepover Rover has several home from which to pick. Arguably, the best part of their service is that when you pick up your pet you can just tell they were happy while they stayed there... My mom is a host and its so much fun to have the dogs come over! They are just great. When we have gone out of town, we used sleep over rover, and our chocolate lab Stella had a great time with that family. And it was super convenient! We dropped her off and watched her play with the kids and golden retriever for a few minutes and picked her up the next day. Usually when the dogs come over they get used to things right away and become attached to my mama. Some have been at our house anywhere from one night to three weeks! There are sometimes fluffy puppies that we watch and sometimes old smelly dogs. it can be pretty interesting to take them on walks. But no matter what, i usually laugh at something silly they do. The only bad part is when i have to pick up the poop! The people who run the business are really nice too. They always care about the well being of their employees and their customers. They even visited our house to meet us and our dog when they were in town. Sleepover Rover is a really great company, and i fully recommend them. read more

BEST EXPERIENCE! I left my dog with Patti Costonis and let me just say she was beyond amazing. I feel like my dog went to a 4 star hotel and got pampered. She took better care of my dog that I probably ever have. I went out of town for 6 days and left my dog, Tank, with Patti at her household. I obviously was nervous about leaving my precious pooch in an unknown home but Patti made me feel so comfortable about the whole process and I left for my trip stress free about my Tank. You see I was nervous because Tank had to take medication daily and if he didn't then consequences could arise, and Patti assured me he would be well taken care of and his medicine given to him. I picked Tank up 6 days later and he was so happy to see me, but had taken quite a liking to Patti. If ANYONE is leaving town even for a few days, don't even think of sending your dog with anyone else but Patti Costonis. AMAZING SERVICE I WOULD DO OVER AND OVER AGAIN. read more

Our 3 dogs stay with Host Donna in Las Vegas. She is awesome. She has all kinds of dog related training including pet first aid and CPR. They run into her cool front yard and enjoy the grass and the shade. We love to vist with her there and enjoy her garden when we drop the kids off and pick them up. She takes pictures of them, sends us text messages and emails, even video while we are away so we always know how they are doing. They are always in good shape, well feed, clean and happy when we pick them up. They are glad to see us but still run around the yard while we catch up with Donna before taking them home. They are in no hurry to leave. She fills us in on all their antics. Donna is very patient. She knows dogs and lets dogs be dogs. She makes sure that they are safe and secure but let's them explore and have a good time. Their time with her enriches their lives. We recommend her to all of friends and clients. read more

My husband and I adopted a rescue yellow lab puppy in December 07. In Feb of 08 we had to go out of town and could not put her in any of the local pet resorts because she wasn't yet 16 weeks old therefore did not have all her shots. We were just about to cancel our trip when someone told us about Sleepover Rover. My call was received by Joanne Sanfor. I got the warmest, most reassuring reception you can imagine. Joanne told me to bring our Jasmine right over for a previsit with her Mandy. All went well and we were able to leave the next day as planned. During our absence Joanne would text us pictures and messages from our baby. I can't tell you the piece of mind we had knowing our girl was in a safe, friendly enviornment, not a cage. We have an old Sheltie with all kinds of medical conditions and were very worried, but Sleepover Rover had the perfect caring host for us at hand, and we could see right away that the dog has had a good time when we picked him up two weeks after drop off. All I can say is pet boarding is made simple with Lisa and Steve caring for our "hairy child" Cagney. She is treated like a member of the family and we couldn't be happier with them caring for her. We have used Sleep Over Rover for the last 5 years and our expectations have always been exceeded by this wonderful host family. When Lisa and Steve are not available for a sleep over the Moon's take Cagney and as with Lisa and Steve, they treat Cagney like a member of the family. I am a student who needed to go home for Christmas break. I could not have done it without the help of Sleepover Rover. They found a wonderful host family to take my precious Marlie Marie for the 8 days that I was gone. There was not one day where I felt guilty or worried. I knew she was in good hands. The host was kind enough to email me every other day with updates and even sent a couple of pictures of Marlie enjoying the holidays with them. I am a host for Sleepover Rover & I love it. I have no pets of my own so it's sorta like having a grandchild come over you can spoil them & then they go home! I am retired & even though the sittings vary time wise I find it perfect. I have a few that keep coming back which makes me very happy! The company is respectful & the girls I talk w/ over the phone are very pleasant. I am competent in giving pets their medications if required @ the same time it is done @ their home. Coming from 32 years in the medical profession I understand the importance & I Google each one for side effects. I don't use this for income per say it's more for the company. I was a first time user for this service 12/2013, like someone else wrote this idea should of been thought of along time ago. I was running out of time to find a place for my dog Scooby during Christmas behind also behind on shots. Dad's place has a big scary mean dog no-go on that. Came across the site gave them a call and a little while later I was checking out a home where Scooby could stay. My host Christina and Matt where great and live really close by. They have two friendly dogs themselves so all dogs will have some friends. Yes May cost a tad bit more but well worth it. My host were awesome with pick-up an drop-off times as coming home was bit of an headache. read more

Best service for dog boarding -pet boarding- in the Phoenix Area!. My host Susan Fullerton is great to my dog. She is very loving and provides great care: excercises my dog, feeds my dog the way I tell her, she treats my dog as if it was her own. I have been leaving my dog with Susan for years now, and she is the only person I trust my dog with. A few years ago when I was looking for pet boarding services I considered the ones provided by other companies and visited a few: really sad to see dogs in small kennels without no free access to a relief area, the poor dogs look so scared and unhappy. Dog Boarding at it's best! WOW! I can't believe I came across this website and decided to give it a try, as I dread leaving my dog at the kennel. Not only do I have to look at those sad eyes as I leave the kennel, but I never seem to enjoy any vacation I take due to the guilt feelings and worries I have. I used this service heavily from 2009 to 2011 and never had a problem. I always had Barbara while in Phoenix and Dee in Riverside. They are both wonderful sitters for my baby girl Brandi (RIP) Dee would even text me pictures daily. Its unfortunate to hear about the 2 bad experiences but I never had a problem. I once had Barbara watch my Brandi for 2 full weeks while in Europe and she gave my sister daily updates to be relayed to me. Our first time using Sleepover Rover Don and Annis Scott hosted our dog Monty for 5 days. The Scotts are wonderful hosts. They truly enjoyed our Golden Retriever and he was completely at home there. He got plenty of attention and love while at the Scotts. When we picked him up I'm not sure he wanted to come home with us (lol)! We will most definitely use Sleepover Rover again in the future and will request Annis and Don Scott as hosts. It gives us great peace of mind knowing that we can trust Monty to the Scotts while we are away. read more
