Made in China chicken treats. Very disappointed to see these on their shelf.

I've been a customer here for several years. Fantastic shopping option versus PetsMart, PetCo, Pet Club, or any of the other pet store options where you get riipp,er......to leave with empty pockets. Granted you can NOT purchase pet food here, I don't believe they have cat litter, and they don't sell Pinkees either, but treats are available and the selection is fairly good. Pet shampoos, tools of various types for trimming nails, leashes, collars, harnesses (do you really know what a harness is for?), tons of great toys for destuffing, chasing, snuggling, or gifting. Stimulation games too. Urns for your beloved pets cremains that come in various sizes. Did I mention nutritional supplements? Books on grooming. Oh yeah, and grooming tables, tubs, and all of those ridiculous accessories (bows, nail polish, hair color -OMG, just makes me RME) for those froo froo doggies. Hey, I'm sorry, but that's just not my thing. Their price on crates will cause you to roll your eyes at what people on craigslist charge for a used crate. And if you already purchased a crate from, say PetsMart, well you'll probably choke on the thought of what you paid and, --oh well I suppose that's enough. Now before your eyes glaze over from the joy of saving some bucks AND getting lots of great things for your heart dog -or cat, be aware that this is a WAREHOUSE. There really isn't customer service here folks. If you found this place, drove here, and have money to spend on your pet I really want to believe you can at least try to find what you're looking for. If not, there are employees wandering around, stocking shelves, filling orders, pulling merchandise, etc. and they are always willing to direct you to where a product would be and if needed, help you get it off the shelf, to the register to pay, and then loaded into your car. This is not a place to bring snookums to pick out a toy, but you can bring your pet with you to shop. Just be aware there may be others with pets and not all are friendly, so listen to your pet and do NOT play that card "snookums wants to say HI! to your dog" cuz it's just not cool and you really don't want to embarrass your pet. Last thing. You are not allowed to carry anything into the warehouse. No backpacks, purses, nada. I suspect it's just easier to prevent products from accidentally slipping into these such things. Now go buy your puppers a big fluffy stuffy, a pig ear or some other Red Barn snack, and they'll be so happy you finally stopped by here.

I dropped off some shears for my girlfriend and they seemed to be pretty good people despite me having no clue what I was doing. Word of warning - they are the door that is ACROSS the way from the warehouse door. Do not go in the warehouse side. Walking from McDowell, take the right side of the drive-through thing.

New puppy added to the family with the other 2...time to stock up.

This was her second visit, and while I acknowledge she can be a bit of a handful, my male dachshund is very calm and well-behaved. Both dogs were dropped off in perfect condition. However, when I picked them up, I immediately noticed my male dachshund was in distress. His tail was tucked, and he began whimpering when I put his harness on. Once we reached the car, it became clear he was in pain--his lower body was trembling, and he whimpered even with minimal touch. Dachshunds are extremely sensitive with their backs, and this behavior is completely out of character for him. I immediately called the store to ask whether anything may have happened during his grooming, including whether he may have been picked up or handled incorrectly. I was told nothing occurred. I know my dog well, and something is clearly wrong. Additionally, my female dachshund had a cut on her leg upon pickup. Both dogs are short-haired, so this injury is concerning. After arriving home and further inspecting my male dachshund, I contacted the manager again. I was told the cameras were reviewed and that nothing had happened. I would have greatly preferred honesty and clarity. As a result of his condition, I am now taking my male dachshund to the veterinarian. Unfortunately, this experience has shown a lack of care and accountability. Staff turnover has clearly impacted the quality of service. My dog previously had the same groomer for years, and nothing like this has ever happened. I will not be returning. Groomer's name Princesa M.

The vet educated me about how her diet needed to be changed to foods low in phosphorus, high in protein & sent me home w/ the standard Renal Diet starter kit by Royal Canin. As a human who sees a Naturopathic Doc AND a regular Doc, I was curious what a local natural pet food store would suggest. I called and had the good fortune that Martha picked up the phone! When this woman heard about my cat's diagnosis, she launched into a mini tutorial about Feline Chronic Kidney Disease. She must've spent 20 minutes on the phone with me, obviously passionate and knowledgeable about animals. She told me she had created a "cheat sheet" of sorts that I could get a copy of: it lists all the brands of food from the lowest phosphorus content to the highest. Knowing more about this my cats illness eased my worries. Once I got to NB, I learned they carried, Daves & Weruva's, both good for Renal Diets. Then I learned that Martha is one of the owners and was so touched at how much time she spent with me on the phone. So kind! She's the real deal about caring about your pets/fur babies. NB gave me a copy of the Cheat Sheet that lists/compared most all the Feline Chronic Kidney Disease wet food. Thank y'all so much for the guidance! P.S. They have an abundance of fun toys, beds, water fountains, treats, etc. for cats & dogs!

They do have a nice variety of food options (found a couple goodies my little hunter will absolutely demolish), but the toy selection was kinda meh. Lots of catnip stuff... which is great if your cat is into that, but mine prefers to straight-up destroy anything already, can't imagine her on the nip just yet. I was hoping for more durable, non-catnip, "won't be shredded in 4 minutes" options. Found a couple things that might survive her wrath, with a few removal of smaller pieces, so we'll see. Overall, good spot, friendly enough, worth popping into if you're nearby, but not quite the specialty treasure trove I had in mind. I'll be back... just not, like, weekly.

All of my animals came to me healthy and happy, but i also know we live in AZ and animals can't be in a hot car for hours on end. Another review said they were neglecting their tarantulas, that's absurd. There's not a single pet shop in the valley that has full set ups for over 200 spiders, The moss is part of the hide/water dish. Unless you're buying a full bioactive setup, which they offer, your animal is going home in a deli container. I have never had any issues with staff, they have always been extremely welcoming, helpful and answered any questions i have had. That being said, ask stupid question and you get stupid answers. I love AE and supporting small local businesses, will be back!
