The opportunities: Floor was very dusty causing sliding, many divots in wood, could feel when skating. Music too loud, causing distortion and complaining from my kids. If you enjoy Drill, this is your place. Many songs consecutively played of that genre. Not something for my kids or me. Overall, was not a good experience from a family experience, nor from a single skater perspective.

On this particular night, it was supposed to be 90s and 2000s music. I really don't want to complain, but my friends and I paid 15 dollars a piece for only 2 and a half hours of skating. It was nice at first becuase there weren't too many people, but then they seemed to just stop caring that most of the people skating were not 18. And the music was not 90s 00s. If I wanted to skate with children and listen to rap I would have come to a normal session. I will politely decline from coming to another adult skate unfortunately.

On Wednesdays June through the end of October the park comes alive when a farmers market is held from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. featuring local produce, crafts, live music and food vendors. Get there early if you only have an hour and plan to order from a food vendor! There is a unique gazebo in the park which is industrial in nature, and features an interesting roof if you step in and look up. The bordering fences also tell an interesting tale. Parks are generally places where people like to hang out, however this park seems to sometimes attract people who might be considered to be loitering rather than enjoying the park's virtues, but overall I dub this park A-OK.

She was very professional and helpful and while children were playing in one area, she would clean and organize in another area. We stayed there for a few hours. My second visit was very different. When I walked in, there were three women there (one who was the owner, I could tell from photos I've seen of her online). She was there chatting with 2 friends while their children played. She also had her dog with her in the play area on the couch. It didn't feel professional to me and it felt like I was intruding in someone's living room. I wanted a latte and felt quite awkward to ask for one, like I was interrupting her hang out time, which is not how I felt during my first experience. Also- I know kids are kids but the children are obviously very familiar with the facility and they thought it was funny to turn the lights on and off in the back room where the playhouse is. I didn't stay as long during my second visit. I still think this cafe is nice to have in Shorewood and I will visit again, I just hope my next visit is more like my first one.

There's a nice paved walkway around the pond in the middle but it may be surrounded by some water logged grass so be careful! There are a few play areas on a few sides of the park so if one seems full, it's not too tough to go to another one. We also attended a traveling beer garden here last year and that was great too. Definitely recommend if you are looking for paved walking.

When I booked this party, I received a confirmation email stating that someone was going to reach out to me within a couple of days to talk details. Never heard from anyone, and after about two weeks, I called to confirm and ask a few questions. On party day, we were not able to get into the first play area until 6 minutes past start time due to other people being in there. Next was the field part of the party, which they specifically asked me which 3 activities I would like to select for the kids. I chose soccer, freeze dance and parachute games. Host did not execute any of those- he stood around the whole time and did not engage with kids at all. He even asked me which songs I wanted for the kids, so I'm not understanding why he didn't do that activity with the kids? At the last part of the party, I asked why he didn't do any of the other activities with the kids and he said it's "hard to get the kids attention when they are playing". Okay, but that's what we paid for? So make it happen. All in all, the kids had a good time and didn't seem bored, but for the price you pay to have a party here, I expected more. Thank you to whoever set up the party room for us, because it was great! They really should have gotten the tip that our host received, because I'm sorry but standing around does not deserve a tip. I read a review before booking this party about their host doing the same thing. I was hoping that was just a bad day for the host and most parties do not go that way. I guess we got unlucky with that as well. Managers should take these reviews seriously and correct this part of the party experience. It would make a big difference in the expectations that parents have/expect.
