In explanation, I was quoted 140 Euros for a filling in a dental practice in Sligo town two weeks ago. My son attended Dr McCaughey dental practitioner in Grange Sligo about three weeks previously and was singing his praises on his return home. I felt the quotation I received was excessive so I phoned my son's dentist Dr McCaughey and compared prices. I rang up two days ago and was quoted between 40 to 60 Euros depending on the size of the tooth. I requested an appointment and was offered one the very next day - efficient! When I arrived I was greeted by a friendly receptionist Teresa. I filled out a medical information form and waited to be seen. Dr McCaughey introduced himself to me and explained all options regarding the filling along with the pros and cons of what he advised. I found him to be very professional and respectful leaving the ultimate decision to me as the patient. I found his practice to be efficient, friendly, clean and reasonably priced when compared to town prices. The priced difference was a staggering 80 Euros (minimum for one filling) between dental practices in Sligo town and Grange - so just imagine how much the cost could be if you had alot of dental work to complete. It's a no brainer! In the end, I was charged 10 euros for the exam, 20 euros for x-rays and 30 euros for the filling as it was a much smaller job than anticipated. Dr McConaughey offered me free of charge 1) 75ml Kin Gingival Complex - mint flavour toothpaste, 2) 125ml KinB5 Gengivas toothpaste and 3) a pack of TePe interdental brush Angle to floss with. I noticed a previous customer left with the same freebies as I did. During our consultation he told me he works on a Saturday. This is most unusual as most dentists work Monday to Friday. I work in the public service Monday to Friday, so this is an added bonus. Needless to say he is my new dentist and saved myself 80 Euros today - a great days work! Jacqueline Calry Sligo

I've been to Brian's surgery 3 times already in past 18 mths. Each time has been an absolute…read morebreeze. Yes, I MEAN it! No pre-visit sweats, palpitations or hand-wringing terror involved. He truly has changed my perception of dentistry. I was in the care of another dental practice until just 18 mths ago and had been given the v bad news that I was to lose a front tooth and undergo a lot of dental work (& huge expense) to have it all dealt with. I am so, so, SO grateful that something inside me told me to get in touch with Brian's practice and seek a second opinion. The great news... he helped me retain that vital front tooth. No big expense was incurred. Common sense, humour and compassion prevailed instead. I cannot recommend this dentist or his team highly enough. I'm middle-aged and let's face it, folks: this is an age where you realise every real tooth in your head is a precious and irreplaceable friend. Therefore I'm going to the effort of writing this review because I sincerely mean it. Getting in touch with Brian's dental surgery might change someone else's life for the better, the way it has done for me. If anyone reading this is seeking a good dental practice in the north west of Ireland, I strongly urge you to make an appt with Teresa at reception in Grange dental surgery Co Sligo at your earliest opportunity. It may just change your entire outlook and turn the prospect of a trip to the dentist into a good thing and no longer comparable to a nightmare on Elm street! Thank you Brian, Teresa & team...
