I don't recommend !!!!…read more Mary did not know the difference between the two COMMON notary forms used in California: the Jurat and the Acknowlegement. I brought her my will with attached Jurat that she should have used to notarize the signatures of my two witnesses and instead she filled it out to notarize my signature and crossed out the second space for the second witness. This means she not only notarized my document incorrectly ( I had to go to an attorneys office to have them print out my document again and then had to sign it in the presence of two new witnesses who also signed and then the two WITNESSES' SIGNATURES were properly notarized), but she also got the wrong signature her official notary journal (mine instead of my two witness). The latter is an issue between her and the State of California with whom she is a licensed notary. When I called her to point out her mistake she said she is not supposed to know the difference and it was up to me to know. She had no time to re-notarize my document and when I asked for a refund of $45 for the incorrectly notarized will she refused again saying it was Not Her JOB to know. Not only do I not recommend this notary but I think she should lose her license since she does not know what she is doing! Thank goodness I took my will to an attorney or I would not have known about her mistake - I wonder how many other documents she has notarized incorrectly for people who are unaware of her mistakes. I also found out that there is a 1 800 number just for notaries to call when they need a question answered... I think she should go back to notary school. Don't use her.
