A smallish deli within a strip mall. We live in Anoka, but rarely get to this side of town, so haven't been here in years. It was a truly pleasant experience. Most items weren't familiar, but the two women behind the counter were super helpful. There was a selection of kass beverages, and I had memories of having it when in Russia, but didn't remember what it tasted like. I asked one of the ladies, and she just opened a bottle and poured a cup for my son and me. After a few minutes, when we decided we wanted to buy the bottle, she said it was too late, as she finished it! We ended up with a couple bottles along with some meat pies (awesome after warmed in a microwave for about 40 seconds) and warm poppy seed pastries. Will definitely be back soon! read more

I hope no one really shops at this store.I walked in and waited for the little old grandma to put her phone away awkwardly standing at the counter she never acknowledged me even when boxing my pastries.i hand her my card and she turns her back to me and I see a row of credit card readers on the back counter.she completely blocks the card reader while she scans it.never a hi or a goodbye nothing friendly it smells like dried fish and dried meat.then she hands me the receipt it's 15.00 for three cannoli no telling how long they have been sitting there.definitely disappointed.pretty sure the health department should check this place out. read more

I don't know how in the world this stores rates at 4.8 stars, but looks like Health Department hasn't stopped by in a while. I gave this store two tries, since I thought maybe a second chance may change my mind, but it was just worse. Let's start from what everyone else is complaining about in the reviews and the management/owners have the rude audacity to make some funny replies: EXPIRED Food: 1st time bought pork belly/salo (the one with black pepper condiments), came home, opened it - tastes sour and old. 2nd time was bologna - even worse, didn't even give it to my dog to smell, goes in the trash. On the top of it, these produce are not cheap, your costumers pay a good price for it cause you cannot find it at every other store, so please, check and track your open food expiration date. I feel like it stays there for months until someone is buying it, cause that sour and tangy was not a few days expired food. Your fridges are dirty and unorganized, filled up with a bunch of everything, you grab one thing and everything else is falling out. There was wrapped frozen herring sticking to some dirty ice (the fridge in the corner by the meat selections). Most likely was thrown in there while unfrozen and leaked throughout. 4 Romanian piece cabbage rolls is actually one piece inside the box, cause it's been warmed up and about to be baked God knows how many times by the time they made to the store, or in the store. Your check out desk is just unbelievable, both times you tried to give me items from that counter, cause there is so much on the way, it's hard to understand which ones were brought to be purchased and which ones were there just for the heck of it. Meat pirojki were just a joke. Don't bring them to your grandma! Cheap meat ball thrown inside the dough, no onions, no condiments and No Salt. You just couldn't make it any tasteless and cheaper than that. The lady was nice enough to warm them up - appreciate that. The cabbage ones were decent though. One employee running the whole store: cutting bread and meat, checking out, answering the phone, checking on the status of the cake deliveries, a few people to be serviced and the wait time is just insane. A young lady eventually showed up and seemed super sweet and trying to help the older lady, but there was not much she could do, since the check out desk requires them to put in manually each item, then turn around to the other desk and take the payment and then wait for the machine to take forever while processing the payment and finally give you a receipt. Gotta love technologies. Not completely upset about it, it's hard to find and keep good employees in any business, but when when you failed the ones above this, you lost a customer that left you each time over $400 in groceries. Great locations to stock up up yummy groceries for the week. This location has lots of friendly faces and variety. They're always more than willing to slice sausages or assist me with anything I would need. I love how they have a lot of children's books in russian since those are hard to come by except online. They also have a decent selection of kasinki, fresh bread, free candy samples, and over the counter meds! Don't forget to grab a yummy ice cream on your way out! read more

Very disappointed. Spent over $20 on candy here and my all time favorite ones were covered in mold. Disgusting that they either don't store it right or simply have it for way too long! I learned my lesson before with buying meats and cheeses but thought that candy would be safer. Does not deserve even one star! Worms in chocolate candy! Rude service! AVOID this place! Today, my sister visited this store to purchase some groceries for evening tea time. She purchased chocolate candies and a variety of sliced sausage, amongst other products. We were enjoying tea together when she opened one of the chocolates - only to find worms (or whatever they are called) in the chocolate. They were alive and moving! We all lost our appetite and became nauseous seeing this - very thankful that she noticed the worms as she was moving the chocolate to her mouth! We took all of the purchased chocolates and also one bag of sausage that smelled foul to return to the store. After some back and forth and a declaration of 'we aren't Nordstrom, Walmart, or Costco' the store clerk returned my sister's money for the candies. But she (store clerk) refused to take back the foul smelling sausage, saying that it was good. My sister threw the sausage in their garbage because it was not good. She thanked the clerk for returning the money for the chocolate and we went home. read more
