Use caution when hiring this team! We asked for a deep clean of our property because we had…read morerecently undergone many renovations and wanted to clean it up. We requested a deep clean in all of the main areas of the house, and although they did this, there were some problems.
First, when we booked them, I was told they would arrive between 9:30 and 11 AM. At 10:08 AM, they had not shown, so I called to check and was told they would arrive between 1:30 and 3 PM, and they had called me to tell me this. Neither my wife nor I had any record of this call. I came to find out they had the wrong area code on our account, so they left this message on a random person's phone. It's an honest mistake since the area code is only one number different than the most common area code in this area, but this clerical error should have been raised when they got no response from calling us.
Second, we told the office that we wanted the maids to use our vacuum because we didn't want them to risk bringing germs or other stuff from another house. When they arrived, the team lead handed me a letter from the office saying I had to sign it to release liability for the maid using our vacuum. No problem, I signed it. THEN THEY USED THEIR VACUUM ANYWAY! Not only was this pointless, but their vacuum stank SO BAD that I still smelled it for a few hours after they left.
Third, I have always been against wearing shoes in the house, but I also understand that asking people, especially cleaning staff, to wear socks or go barefoot is an over-the-top request. However, the office confirmed that the maids were all sent with shoe covers and would wear them. I even keep some in the house for just this reason. However, when they arrived, they did not bring any shoe covers or take off their shoes. I speak moderate Spanish, so I mentioned the shoe covers or 'quitarse sus zapatos, por favor' ("take off your shoes, please" in Spanish), and they did not pay any attention to this request. So, they cleaned the house with their shoes on, tracking dirt from a dirty room to a room that had just been cleaned by one of the other team members.
Fourth, I understand that my house is cluttered in areas because we have four kids and my mother-in-law living with us, but I don't feel like the team deep-cleaned. Yes, the areas they did clean were cleaner than before, but I would not call it a deep clean. We still found dust on various areas of the mouldings (a product of the renovations that the deep clean was supposed to help us with) and the tops of various other places that a deep clean would. There were still sections of the floor (mainly under the edges of counters and the like) that were only slightly cleaner than before.
The office called to check on my service the day after, and I told them what happened. They were apologetic, advised that these things were not up to their code of conduct, and so on. They offered me a small discount on the service to make up for it, which I appreciated. Other than not following the directions, the maids were nice and friendly, and the house looked better than before they arrived. I would question what constitutes a "deep clean".
