Ugh, stop it!!! They have a cupcake flight now. There was a display out that said you needed to preorder but they had an extra one on hand and of course I had to have it! 12 delightful little 2 bite cupcakes... yes please! This has been my favorite cupcake place since we moved to the springs. I brought a box to meet friends at a brewery a few weeks ago and they were a huge hit with my friends and everyone that walked by! Not only eye catchingly (making that a word) gorgeous, they're melt in your mouth sweet and delicious! They always have a great selection available and even little pupcakes that my dogs love. Tons of parking always available and the staff is so inviting and energetic! Highly recommend if you have a sweet tooth

Pink Chocolate Cupcake & Vanilla-n-Chocolate Cupcake

After deciding we needed dessert one weekend afternoon, I began looking for locations who had cupcakes, close to us. After finding Smallcakes & looking at their Signature Flavors list, we set out!! It's in a very easy to get to location, right off N. Academy. There were a few tables occupied & a gentleman ordering at the counter. Very cute place & it smelled very good. I looked at the cupcakes on display & was very excited to try them. After ordering, the lady boxed the cupcakes in a beautiful, pink box, & told me to have a nice day. I decided to dig into my cupcake very soon after arriving home. It was beautiful & I needed to know how it tasted. I cut it into quarters & dove in!! The frosting texture was definitely creamy & fairly dense, which I liked. The sweetness off the frosting was the next aspect that pulled forefront quickly. It was super sweet. The chocolate cake was quite moist, which was great, but I felt as though the chocolate flavor was lacking. What I couldn't decide, was if it was simply the sweetness of the frosting drowning out the flavor of the cake. I took the other 3/4 & placed it back in the box for later. Once my husband cut into his, I tried that one & the frosting wasn't quite as sweet. The yellow cake again was moist, but no real flavor to speak of that stood out. In conclusion, they were not bad, they were a moist cupcake that was beautiful & had a nice amount of frosting. For me, I felt that a cupcake for $4.95 should have offered a little more. I would definitely be willing to pop in & try another flavor. Will definitely update if I do!!

I placed a delivery order and it was delivered super fast. Cupcakes were packaged nicely in a sweet, sturdy box. Cupcakes aren't cheap, about $4.25 a piece, but they are pretty big and super tasty. I definitely enjoyed the choices we made, and would highly recommend the salt caramel cupcake. It was sweet but not overpowering and it was super moist. I'm not a fan of chocolate cake but theirs is pretty good. The frosting on the pink cupcake was a little too sweet for me.. so next time I will skip that flavor and order a new one instead. The cookies and cream flavor looked interesting. We will be ordering again from them soon !

I was in the mood for dessert, so I ordered via DoorDash from Smallcakes Cupcakery. The cupcakes and ice cream are outstanding! It's deceiving when you first look at the cupcakes, they appear to have very little frosting. The reason for having a smaller portion of frosting, is the frosting is so rich and delicious, you only need a small amount. They do an excellent job combining flavor and texture in their cupcakes. Arguably, these are some of the best cupcakes I have ever eaten. Also, I ordered what I thought was a cupcake and ice cream mix, but it was actually a milkshake. The milkshake was so thick and delicious I had to share it with my son, we both can barely drink the milkshake. If you're in the mood for dessert or like a thick milkshake, this dessert shop is unmatched. I highly recommend trying Smallcakes Cupcakery.

First of all I want to acknowledge and thank Ryan for his warm and outgoing personality. He was friendly, knowledgeable. Definitely a staff member that needs/must be acknowledged!!! This was my first time at Small Cakes and I will be adding it as a stop when I and in town for the birthday cake cupcake. The cake itself is so light and delicious. The cups cakes are very large. I divided mine in half. The icing is perfectly sweet and had the good tasting sprinkle balls on them. I also got another one and I am looking forward to having it tomorrow. The shop is large and delightful.

I had honestly forgotten that I came by here and got a treat the last trip to the springs until we walked in tonight to kill time waiting on our table down the street. I took one look at the setup and remembered EXACTLY where I was and I was so excited! I hadn't written it down in my place I have went so I was kicking myself trying to find the spot. They were almost cleaned out because I came 15 minutes before closing. Their options are great for a quick fun dessert. Cupcakes are moist and baked fresh daily. The icecream is so creamy and good. They have cookies and cake balls as well! I went for a 4 count classic vanilla cake ball cup to share with my sister before our dinner. Sweets are always good first LOL! They did not upset me at all. Totally worth the sugar. Worth the carbs. And worth the money. The atmosphere is so fun and it is very clean. Service is great and does well at helping you out deciding what you should try. The price is completely fair for this special kind of dessert bar. I am so glad we happened upon it again and one of my big reasons for writing my review is so I don't forget where to go when I visit again!

After cake had fallen completely

Respectfully, I would not place an order for an event unless it's the for cupcakes. I was very specific and even sent reference photos of the cake I was hoping for. I placed the order over 2 weeks in advance and stated I wanted rainbow colors (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple) I stated I would be putting a topper on the cake and they had suggested writing the "happy birthday" on the side of the cake. The cake itself was 85$ plus an up charge of 10$ for decorating and then the cost of the 2 cupcakes. All together I paid 120$ not including the tip. I came to pick up the cake the day before my twins first birthday and when I was shown the cake I immediately had a pit in my stomach because it was nothing like the reference photos I had sent. The colors were almost of monsters inc. and nothing like a rainbow. I was also horrified by the giant, poorly written happy birthday covering over 50% of the side of the cake in a color that I felt was wildly inappropriate for the colors they chose. But, unfortunately I did not speak up in that moment like I should have. I felt the pressure of time and the laundry list of things I still needed to accomplish prior to the birthday the following day. So I left feeling insecure about the cake and quite honestly angry with myself for being so passive. Once I got home I placed the cupcakes and cake in the fridge. When I took the cake out the next day and went to take it out of its "cake box" (it's a donut box) I saw that all of the piping was smashed and the side of the cake was falling. At this point I took pictures as it was so infuriating to see this the day of. Later, after the party started a guest came to me and informed me that the side of cake had fallen off. I had called today (7/19) as family had left 7/18 and I wanted to wait to address this once plate was a little less full. I called and spoke with the manager who listened to my concerns respectfully and offered a 25$ gift card. When I explained that I did not feel that this was an adequate resolution she stated that because it had been so long since the order was received (even tho I could provide time stamped photos) there was nothing more she could offer. And that the cupcakes were at fault to myself as they had fallen during transportation. I let the manager know that I would be posting an honest review with photos. At this point she clearly being irritated stating she would not be providing any type of reimbursement as I would be "slandering the company", which I do not feel I have done in this review. The cake itself was delicious and I appreciated her offer but felt that for the amount of money I spent and for both of my purchases to be ruined due to improper packaging and on the day of my twins first birthday, $25 was not a good offer. I am not going to place blame on the look of the cake as I passively said "it's great" because who wants to tell someone their cake looks bad to their face. But that's on me and a lesson I learned. I am ok with not being reimbursed if it means saving someone else in the future from making the same mistakes I did. And I truly hope that small cakes can understand this isn't me slandering their company (because truly your cake is delicious) but maybe find better packaging so this doesn't happen in the future and being more attentive to your customers requests and reference photos.

Choco-holic Cupcake "Famous" Red Velvet Cupcake Cookie Sandwich Cookies-n-Cream Cupcake

I got the chocolate cream cupcake and chocoholic ice cream the other day and we are going back today! My roommate got the red velvet and cookies & cream cupcake and the carrot cake ice cream she loved it! So excited to try more flavors :) Tip: I did get a ice cream cookie sandwich but the sugar cookies were pretty hard and ice cream soft made it hard to eat and it was a hot day so I'm just going to get ice cream in a bowl with the cupcake this time!

Honestly, the exterior doesn't look like much, but that's part of its charm. When we walked up, the young lady taking our order was really friendly and professional, which made the experience even better. Since it was our first time there, she helped us navigate the menu, and I appreciated that. The prices on the menu were reasonable, and I was pleasantly surprised by how generous the ice cream portions were. Although our food took a little while to come out, we didn't mind too much because we got to enjoy the ice cream while we waited. The staff were so warm and welcoming that it made the wait worth it. Overall, I think the friendly vibe and good value here will definitely bring me back for another visit!

We ordered hamburger combos, a pork loin tender sandwich, and a soft-serve dipped ice cream. The food was okay overall, but nothing really stood out. The hamburger, pork tenderloin sandwich, fries, and ice cream were all average. They were just okay, nothing to rave about. The biggest disappointment was the service. We ordered three combo meals, but one order of fries was missing. Since everything was packed into one small paper bag, we didn't notice until we were already seated outside and had started eating. When we went back to let them know, instead of simply replacing the missing fries, we were asked to gather all of our food, repack everything into the bag and bring it back so they could check the contents. It was hot and windy so having to pack everything up again was inconvenient and a bit upsetting I understand that they may have wanted to verify the missing item but it was not the most customer-friendly way to handle the situation, especially since we were still dining on-site. Overall, the experience was just average.

The government of Colorado apparently believes that every settlement in the entire state requires an abundant supply of frozen dairy. If true, this is an enlightened public policy. The shop was completely empty when we arrived. A lone young man stood behind the counter because his coworker was on break. He did not look at us with the despair usually reserved for a sudden crowd. He simply smiled and began scooping with the enthusiastic efficiency of a soldier waiting for reinforcements. I purchased a double scoop containing Salted Peanut Butter Cup and a flavor called Moose on the Loose. The second flavor contained enormous chunks of fudge that were buried deep within the cream like forgotten treasure. It was exactly the sort of heavy molecular fuel a human body requires after arguing with a giant rock. There was also a glass cooler filled with vintage sodas. Nostalgia routinely robs my wallet before my intellect can mount a defense. I purchased an RC Cola and spent ten minutes explaining to the members of our group born in the 90's that there was a time in human history when cola came in more than two respectable varieties. The ice cream was excellent and my history lesson was free. If you find yourself in Manitou Springs with tired lungs, you could do a great deal worse.

They literally only had three flavors to offer and said they were sold out of the rest. How can an ice cream store be out of almost every flavor in the middle of the day in March?
