I definitely recommend going in-person to speak with their bakers and get an idea for what they can do. Bring pictures to show what you're looking for. They don't offer cake tastings but I bought a few cupcakes and tried them there to pick my cake flavor, frosting, and designs. Although not required I paid for everything ahead of time and the cupcakes were boxed and ready to go the day of my event for a seamless pick up. The cupcakes turned out better than I expected and all my friends and family loved them! The cake was not even close to being dried out like I worried. It was perfect. The butter creme is the best I've had from local bakeries in COS. If you like the design be sure to ask for a rosette pattern on the icing. The almond cake is fantastic. We stopped by this little spot on the way home from a doctor visit. We saw a sign for cinnamon buns and I know my wife just loves those things. I was cheerfully met by the staffer at the counter and picked up two ginormous cinnamon buns and a freshly baked white bread. We brought them home and decided to save them for later. Good call. We broke into those buns and I must say I've never had better. The buns had the right amount of cinnamon that melded with the cake and the icing. Outstanding! I see that cinnamon rolls are really what they are about, but using the rolls as an example, I bet the cakes they make are the 'bomb'. I love seeing a small local shop put out an outstanding product.
