Very mixed feelings about our experience with LPS…read more Our wedding was in April of 2019 and LPS did both our photos and video. To state the positive, yes, LPS produces beautiful work with amazing quality. We recognize and acknowledge that the photos and videos are top-notch among others in this industry. In the end, we are very happy with the final deliverables. We received the last of of all deliverables (the hard drive containing all video footage) yesterday (10/9/2019), which is almost six full months after the wedding. However, regardless of the fact that it took almost half a year to receive photos and video of our wedding, this wasn't the biggest source of our frustration. The frustration mainly lived in the near total lack of communication from LPS. We understand that LPS is a large company that handles many, many clients at the same time. We also understand the painstaking process of photo/video editing. What we don't understand is LPS' failure to provide timely updates on where we are in the entire process. We feel that the very least LPS could've done was to provide monthly updates on how they were progressing with the final assets. The contract explicitly stated that certain assets would be delivered after a certain time period (i.e. 6 weeks after wedding, 10 weeks after wedding, etc). However, LPS failed to reach out during the days leading up to the final due date, to give us an update or confirmation on process. We were always the ones who had to reach out first to ask if we would receive our items on time. Therefore, we ended up always feeling left in the dark, wondering what was going on and chasing after something that couldn't be reached. Let's face it. LPS is not cheap. The prices are expected given the nature of their high quality. However, we started to question if it was really worth it (we paid nearly $8k)--to go through the long wait in radio silence & total darkness. Through their Instagram, we were able to watch some of their past work, which really helped us make our decision. Jose and Arantza were such an integral part of making our day run seamlessly. The only time we remembered we were on camera was when they were cheering us on, and making us feel beautiful with compliments. We received our two wedding videos (1 preview, and 1 longform) immediately after our honeymoon, and we haven't stopped watching them since. To this day, I cry every single time. They did such an incredible job, capturing the tiny details, and sewing them together beautifully during editing. They even documented moments we weren't able to witness, making it even more fun to watch. We got to see our guests truly enjoying the day, thanks to this video. What's more: Arantza was incredibly respectful when adding the mics underneath our clothing at different times. She asked for consent, and was incredibly clear when helping us understand the importance. By the end of the day, I genuinely felt like they were just guests at the event, celebrating us. Looking back, I can't imagine what our day would've been like without them there. They had one of the most important jobs that day, and they did it flawlessly. For the past 15 years we've held a conference, and the most recent one this March, we had a lot of our clients (over 150 people) flying in from all over the world to New York City. Coincidentally, many colleagues were flying in as well, so I was thinking that I needed a photographer to not only (a) take pictures of the event, but (b) we all need updated headshots, so I wonder if we can be creative and work that in... Luckily, Graham came highly recommended through the right connections, and let me say it was very easy and worth it: - We requested a tailored project, and he easily agreed and sent a very nice package quotation... boom, done. - Prior to the event, whenever we needed something, he was very easy and fast to get us appropriate documentation, etc. - He arrived early -- even earlier than we asked, which was awesome - He set up shop and took a variety of headshots for staff at the beginning of the day in a corner alcove of the conference space - As the event started, he furiously worked the space, taking photos of conversations, speeches, questions, the audience, and breakout sessions. - During the day he further wove in headshots for other colleagues - After the conference, he delivered a myriad of photos the day after, and the full suite of headshots and event pictures within about a week. We had collected so many beautiful memories on photographs and videos but the thought of organizing any of it was extremely daunting, and the thought of not taking any more pictures was a non-starter, especially since we have 2 beautiful babies and love to capture every moment. This conundrum left us with a mountain of pictures and videos that we never ended up looking through. We really needed someone to show us how to get organized, filter through the duplicates and bad shots, implement a good back-up and storage process for us, and most importantly - put together watchable video montages that condensed dozens of hours of video footage into 5-10 minute video montages that we could subject family (and ourselves) to watching!
