I'll admit, this sits at the higher end of hairdresser salons. I'm pretty confident that this is usually a bookings only type deal, but at the same time, the hairdressers are quite skilled at their craft. Even so, I got a reasonably priced haircut, and got the shampoo treatment which was quite nice indeed. There was a sole hairdresser on shift on this day, but she did a great job, never getting flustered or rushing and treating customers very well. It was much better than the queue up, "next please, next please," type of super busy place. Lou Salon was not something I was looking for, but it was a worthy find.

I went in for a cut and colour, and left dissatisfied with the results of both. The colour matching wasn't right (too much red and not enough brown), and the cut was shorter than I asked for. It was also really expensive and not worth it at that price - I could have gone to another salon with a regular stylist, for a better result.

hmmmm. i didn't have a great experience here. it is SO hard to find a good hairdresser and this…read morejust makes me more panicked about finding someone decent. i went here because they were close to my house and they use goldwell dye. i wanted blonde foils into ombre pink. so blonde, pale pink to hot pink. i had a consult a couple of weeks before the actual appointment and it went really well, i felt like the hairdresser understood what i wanted. so i turn up for the appointment, and the hairdresser is there but i'm directed to a different hairdresser. this hairdresser goes through what i want again, and i'm okay with that. then someone else starts my blonde foils. then someone else starts the colour underneath. then another person does the pink, with instruction from the second hairdresser. i start to get really nervous. plus, i'm watching the original hairdresser i did the consultation with do the hair of walk ins. hello? if i book an appointment with YOU, i'd like you to do my hair. is that so much to ask?! goldwell dye... well, for me, it's hard to go wrong. i'm generally pleased with the colour. but that's the dye, not the hairdressing job. ombre is usually done by teasing the hair and then painting the colour on. they didn't do this, and the girl looked quite nervous throughout painting pink onto my hair. so the colour was not really close to ombre, it was more like a straight line. FAIL. they also used blonding cream on my ends. not sure if my ends are just totally damaged or what, but a lot of my hair started to break off. this has NEVER happened to me before. sigh... it also cost $280. and i had no balls to complain! so i'm doing it on the internet!

I had to conform that i had called the right number, booked the appointment no problems. When i arrived for my appointment loud music was playing on the TV the lights were off and i was asked to sit down, no explaniation of "so and so will be with you soon" or and offer of a cup of tea or coffee, which i was so looking forward to. The vibe felt off and i actually thought about leaving then and there. The girl who cut my hair seemed extreamly inexperienced, i had to ask her to cut more off my hair a few times. its still too long, i asked her to give it a slight wave when styling she curled it. I felt like my requests werent listened too, at the end she talked at me for a good 20 mins about her old work places and how awful her boss was, and he ex boyfriend which i found pretty poor form. I called to make an appointment to see if i could get the cut fixed, the person who answered the phone again just said "hello" i needed to confirm once again i have called Kovo hair. Person offered me a time, we agreed on time, then she said no actually come in at another time that didnt suit me, so i just left it. She called me back again, i missed her call, left a message for her to call me back, and have not heard back. Going somewhere else today to have the hair cut i actually wanted in the first place. Sleek, white, and spotless Duesenberg is very stylish. The high mirrors, black chairs and minimal…read morefurnishings all draw your attention to the stylists and the clients sitting in the chairs. The attention is on your hair and seeing as you are in a hair salon, this seems appropriate. Behind the front section the salon opens out into a washing area and more mirrors, this is a little more secluded and you won't need to feel like hiding when you have tin foil sticking out of your hair at odd angles. Duesenberg is manned by the owner Rob and his wife as well as several other hairdressers and apprentices. Armed with hair dryers, scissors, brushes, combs and a hell of a lot of product, Duesenberg will change your life - through your hair. On a more serious note I really do think it's a great salon. I think the staff are wonderful and very friendly (they are always offering coffees and teas, which wins them major brownie points in my book), but I think it's just a little too expensive. That's my only issue. For a half head of foils and a cut from a senior stylist I was looking at the region of around $200. It was just a little too much for me, but if you've got the money then I recommend Duesenberg with all my heart.

The stylists will come and go, but they always select lovely staff and every person at their salon is professional, caring, respectful, friendly and good at their craft. I have always had a positive experience here - even when I have personally a bad day, they will recognise that and give me the space I need. They are good, their products are nice and their service is always exemplary. They are very caring and I recommend them heartily.
