Over time, the program has gotten a little more expensive, but it's still far less expensive than non-subsidized programs and even less expensive than some other subsidized ones. Tuition includes breakfast, lunch (including milk) and snack. They even do some laundry, especially for the little ones. This summer there has been a slight increase in tuition for the older kids to bring programming to school and to take them on field trips. The food is great, the facility is lovely and the outdoor space can't be beat. The vast majority of the teachers my children have had over the years have been wonderful, although, of course, I have had my difference with the way some things are handled. The director is open and easy to talk to. (I am moving my children to someplace closer to home, and I'm going to miss this place a lot)

I wanted to share my experience with Julia Brown School regarding my daughter's time there…read more Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing and left us feeling that the environment was not supportive of helping children adjust and thrive. When my daughter was placed in a new classroom, she had been there for less than a full day before we began receiving calls asking us to pick her up because she was "not listening to instructions." As any parent knows, transitions to a new classroom can be challenging for young children. It typically takes time for them to feel comfortable with new teachers, classmates, and expectations. Instead of allowing her a reasonable adjustment period or working with us on strategies to help her settle in, the school seemed irritated by the situation and quick to remove her from the classroom. We were hoping the staff would demonstrate patience, professionalism, and a child-centered approach--giving her at least a week or two to adapt to the new environment. Unfortunately, that level of support and understanding was not demonstrated. Repeated calls to pick her up after such a short time in the classroom made it feel like the priority was convenience rather than helping a child succeed. Every child deserves educators who are willing to guide them through transitions with patience and care. We had hoped for a more supportive and professional approach from the school in ensuring that our child had the opportunity to adjust and thrive.

The teachers are phenomenal and the campus is clean and neat. School communications are clear and prompt, there's always someone there to answer questions or concerns. One of my favorite parts of JBS Silver Spring is the community. We have met life-long friends both for the kids and us parents. Often when a child leaves JBS Silver Spring, we stay in touch with the family since the kids build such a close bond. I can't imagine us being anywhere else, it's truly our dream school come true.

And the playground is safe and wonderful for the very youngest of learners. They use an app which provides updates including photos and videos. As a new parent, leaving my child at daycare made me very nervous. But the staff has my full trust and their stellar communication has given me great confidence. I see my child being social and exploring at such a great pace. I really think it takes a village to raise a child and I consider Primrose a part of ours. We are very grateful.

Once Ms. Sahshi came on board, things went to an even better place. She is such a great director. My son loved his teachers: Ms. Fereshteh and Ms. Erica. There's another teacher he absolutely adores, but I forgot her name. I watch them clean the toys daily. They take the kids out and they get plenty of exercise. This school is very well run, has great facilities and classroom space and a wonderful staff. The atmosphere is very warm and friendly. Each morning we're greeted by the director at the door, she knows all of the children (and siblings) by name. The school is very secure as well, the door is locked after drop-off and there is a wonderful gated playground for the kids. The staff is very welcoming and responsive, there is great communication with the parents. The curriculum is great and includes several in-school field trips (visits from traveling petting zoos, Otto the safety auto, etc.). The kids love going to school. We have been incredibly pleased with our experience at this school and highly recommend it.

The leaders and teachers go above and beyond to care for and nurture every child, and it shows both in how much he is learning and how excited he is to run in the door each day. Deciding who to trust with your children is a huge deal, and I am SO glad that we chose SSCCC. As an early childhood educator and consultant myself, my expectations were high, and I have truly been blown away by how much he is learning, how deeply he is building knowledge about the world, and how much he is loved by his teachers. They see the light in every child.
