I love this practice. I just started coming here after moving into town. Everyone is nice and Dr Lyndi is funny. She has a great bedside manner and listens well. Have I said she's funny?! . I come back for my cleanings and work because of how awesome they are. The only thing I wish they did was open on Fridays (they are closed) but that's not a deal breaker. Live this place. I bounced around Abilene for years trying to find a right fit for my dental care. I landed at Smart about 6 years ago and there I've stayed! I absolutely do not like going to the dentist, but Dr. Smart and her staff are so incredible that it helps so much in easing that fear. Dr Smart did 3 fillings at the same visit for me. Both she and her staff were very nice. However, one of those fillings fell only 2 months later, and the other fell 4 months later, and I had to have them replaced elsewhere. The third one was ok, but clearly, something was not done right. read more

I have had to have a lot of dental work in my lifetime. I wasn't sure about coming to the dentist again but after visiting this office I wasn't afraid again. I enjoyed going in to get work done and to visit with the office staff. They are a nice and make you feel at home. The front office staff are very helpful and know there insurance. The assistants are nice and knowledgeable. Dr. Smart made my teeth look fabulous and believable. She was very caring and nice. Broke my tooth on a Thursday at lunch and was sitting in the dentist chair at 1:30 the same day. Dr. Smart put a temporary filling to protect the nerve. They made an appoint for me to have a root canal and crown on Monday. The office staff was fantastic and so caring, especially Dr. Smart. I could not be happier with my experience. Went here due to a tight time schedule to get my teeth cleaned. The lady with short hair who did my Teeth was extremely rough and uncaring. Never experienced that before. They did a ton of x-rays, and found I had some cavities and offered for me to come back. I came back and Dr. Smart did both of them. Again rough and rude she is. I tried to strike a conversation with her, and she just didn't want to talk. After they were done, I left. I was in pain (never in pain in that area) and let it go for a few days before I called and they got me back in. They did not put the fillings in right and it was rubbing against another tooth where floss would not fit and when tried it hurt even more. So they started to file them down without any pain deadening stuff. The pain got to me a bit too much and I asked them to stop. She said you want pain deadening, I said yes. Then she got upset, sighed and did it but rough doing it. They fixed the issue and when I wanted to thank her she disappeared before checking if I am okay and it was good. She is very rushy, and just doesn't seem to care for her clients like other dentists I have been too sadly. Some of her staff are nice, but she is a winner for not being nice. At least they got my teeth cleaned. I will not be going back here again. Edit: 07/24/2014 -- Went to another dentist to have my pain resolved. They found the fillings that Dr. Smart put in, were loose and not bonded well. Also had a gap. That is what happens when you rush and don't do a good job. STOP! READ ME!! Are you reading reviews because your scared to death to go to the dentist and want to know what other people have experienced at dentist? Well you clicked on the right dentist when you chose Dr Smart. I promise. I was scheduled to have THREE total extraction surgeries where they would take out six or more of my teeth. I have HORRIBLE teeth, I knew I needed help and I needed it fast. I didn't sleep for the entire week before the surgery. It was all in my head. Dr Smart and her entire team are so gentle and caring. I did not feel a THING. Included the dreaded shots. Dr Smart does this thing where she jiggles your lip so you can't feel it. A two hour process felt like it took twenty minutes. I did flinch at one point during the surgery because I felt a small minor prick and she stopped what she was doing immediately and gave me another shot which I DID NOT FEEL. I don't know what the guy above me is talking about where he said Dr Smart is rough because she is not. I promise. Don't miss out on the best dentist in town because one guy was a little uncomfortable in the chair. I tell everyone about Dr Smart and my experience. I've written on yelp, yahoo, yellow pages and Facebook about her. Do not look any further, no dentist will treat you the way Dr Smart and her team will treat you. Fantastic!! read more

Let me start by saying im hard to please due to horrible experiences in the past. Ive seen over 10 dentists and had multiple fillings, extractions and crowns. Ive had more money spent on my mouth than ive spent in my life on my own car.. Ive been traumatized by dentists from teeth pulling under ZERO numbing and careless behavior. Ive experienced anxiety and panic attacks at every visit, to the point of tears and rescheduled visits. HOWEVER... That being said, Smart dentistry and Dr. Smart is by far the best, i no longer experience anxiety before or at visits. She gets the job done and does a wonderful job. My front teeth are beautiful and i got my smile back in time for my wedding. If you feel like something isn't right she will listen, adjust and work it out with you until you feel that its better, and she explains what and whys so you aren't left guessing. I was nervous in the beginning but I've learned to trust her wholly and my mouth is now better than its been in so long! Thank You Dr. SMART! My wife scheduled out appointments and I reluctantly went is to see a dentist for the first time in 15 years. Rather than berate me for taking so long to finally get examined, they were some of the nicest folks I have ever met. Everything from the minimal wait time to the joy of a deep cleaning went very well! I was so pleasantly surprised by the whole experience and have a few more sessions scheduled before I can say my teeth are good. As a registered nurse who works in a busy ER I know how it can be to try and provide health care to people who are not having their best day. Some of the reviews I have read on this site do NOT reflect how my wife and I were treated today. It was a wonderful experience and I will recommend this dentist and her amazing staff to any one! Outstanding care in a very comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. It is rare that I would take the time to actually do a review but Smart Family Dentistry was truly outstanding! read more

Dr. Smart's dental and office staff are completely outstanding! I went in for a deep cleaning on two separate visits and on both visits I got to meet with her hygienists, Lori and Kelby. They were both very thorough and very explanatory the whole time I was getting my cleaning. Everyone in Dr. Smart's office including herself are very friendly and respectful. Everyone always has a smile on there face. Dr. Smart was very helpful and made me feel comfortable in the dental chair. I respect that she takes the time to actually diagnose every tooth and was giving me the best options to make my teeth better. Smart Family Dentistry is definitely a judge free place. I was told I had several cavities, but went to another dentist and found out I didnt have any!

I went to Smart Family Dentistry for a couple of years. The last time I had my teeth cleaned there Dr. Smart said I had 10 cavities. That's way more cavities than I've ever had before. I went to another dentist and they said I only had 2! I've also had to have fillings replaced that Dr. Smart put in after only a year or two. They are supposed to last a lot longer than that. Dr. Smart spends very little time with her patients and rushes the filling procedure. Also, every time I tried to schedule an appointment the office staff was very rude.
