Aspen Garden & Landscape - Bluestone Retaining Wall

    Aspen Garden & Landscape

Eric and Lindsey's creativity and passion truly transformed our yard, and the crew (special shoutout to Sam & Anders!) went above and beyond. If you want a team that really knows landscaping and cares about every detail, Aspen is the one to call!

Take the opportunity to grab 'em while you can. When Aspen gets busy, they get VERY busy, and Eric -- I conjecture -- don't quote me -- would need to turn away clients or ask them to go on a waiting list for the following year. Mr. Eric, Ms. Lindsey, and the rest of their brilliant crew have been working on a multi-year project for me putting in hardscape, including grading and, ultimately, changing (soft-scaping) our two acres from lawn to native plants+wildlife flower garden. Eric and crew are experts on native plants. The more I read about "lawns," the more I cringe every time I pass one on the road. Lawns, being non-native plants, they are animal-torturers -- ironically, lawns passively mow down animals. Think of lawns as efficient animal-disposal machines. Do the planet (and your neighborhood) a favor and make your land friendly to critters by insisting on native plants. Native plants and animals evolved together over millions of years, so when one's land doesn't have native plants, wildlife starves, all the way up and down the food-chain. Lawns are gasoline- and water-guzzlers. The lawn industry uses up a humongous amount of petroleum products merely in lawn-mowing. I am a "Gone the Lawn" person now. Lawns are appropriate ONLY under certain circumstances, like one is a croquet fanatic. I never knew that gardening was year-round. April is the month everyone waits for, but planning starts the previous autumn. Eric's physically-demanding season winds down in mid-November, so let him see your plot before the snows hide the land. Autumn is the best time to start brainstorming the design phase for the following April. Eric and crew are not only landscapers but artists.

I contacted Lawn Love for a one time mowing making it clear that's all I needed. After they…read morecanceled the first time I checked my account on their website and they had me set up for weekly mowing at $75 per week deducted from my bank account. I tried to cancel but the page was under construction. Numerous emails to them elicited no response. They canceled again. Someone showed up and mowed about 20% of my lawn and they billed me for the full service and then had the audacity to text me telling me they were finished and ask if I was satisfied. I responded as anyone would and told them to cancel my fraudulent contact. They instead scheduled another mowing. I ended up cancelling the credit card and am considering collecting other victims names and filing a class action lawsuit. This company is a scam.

Essentially a scam…read more Our tractor needs a new starter so we have been unable to get it started to mow our lawn. We intend to have people over this weekend for a graduation party, and needed it mowed before then. However, the part I need to fix our tractor will not be here until Wednesday, which rushes things a little. We thought we could have Lawn Love do it in the interim. HOWEVER I was outside making sure the yard was clear when they stopped by. The guy sat in his truck for about five minutes and then left. We then got notification that our lawn mowing was cancelled because the grass is too long. They now want to charge us over $500 to bring bigger equipment out and do it in two weeks. He did not even talk to me. He absolutely knew I was there, and chose to just drive off without discussing it. There is not a chance in Hell I am ever paying anyone $500 to mow less than an acre of grass, regardless of how long it is. You have to tell them how long your grass is, then when they come out the next week and the grass is longer than that (which it will be, because grass grows), they try to scam you. Let me be perfectly clear here. We had a similar issue two years ago with our tractor. The grass was longer than this when we finally got everything replaced and the tractor running. I cut the grass with a John Deere D125 with absolutely zero problem. I saw the mower they had on the back. It is much better than mine. They could have done it very easily, the guy just decided to try to make a few extra bucks on us in a couple weeks and take an extra break today. Pure, unadulterated laziness. That's literally all it was. What sucks is we looked at the list of services they offer and had gotten kind of excited. They do a lot. Garden weeding, landscaping, etc. There was a lot we were looking to have done later this year. Not now. Not from this company. If I ask them to weed my garden what is going to happen? They stop by, look at it, don't talk to us, and leave a note saying "oh sorry, you have crabgrass, we were only prepared for dandelions, we'll be back in two weeks for an extra $400"? Maybe if the guy had come over and talked to me like a decent human being I wouldn't be writing this. But he didn't, so enjoy this review instead.

Brian with Madison Mowing Service and Madison Mosquito Service is the best residential landscape…read morecompany I have worked with (no ifs ands or buts)! Landscaping (and specifically mowing) should be an easy task, right? Cut the grass, trim the high stuff and blow away all the debris with a Mach 3 turbo blower that can normally blow the license plates off of cars. The things is, it really isn't that easy... It takes a knowledgeable, professional, reliable and pro-active approach and Madison Mowing Service is all that and a bag of mulch! I hate to cut my grass. It normally takes me about 2 hours on a weekend and that is time that I could spend by listening to the Brewers, firing up the smoker, drinking whatever beverage I have available and playing catch with the kids. That all requires a manicured lawn (for both actual use and also peace of mind). So, either I cut it or have someone do it for me. I also hate spending money on things that I normally could and should be doing. Madison Mowing Service is so reasonably priced that it's a no-brainer for me to use them (plus my lawn is looking better than it ever has). Madison Mowing Service does it all for me and I couldn't be happier with the results! I won't bore you with how professional Brian is, how affordable his services are, how detailed he is and how impressive his landscaping equipment is. I won't go on and on about how Madison Mowing Service can handle just about any landscaping project - mowing, edging, installations, tree trimming, aeration, etc. One other note - we have a puppy - he poops. Madison Mowing Service doesn't complain like the other guys about some missed poop here and there - they just deal with it and realize it's part of what they do - BONUS POINTS! These guys are the right choice for anyone looking for the "best of best" residential landscaping service! They also do extremely cost-effective (I hate to use the word "cheap") spring and fall clean-up. I'm looking forward to the results this fall when I don't have to rake the yard which has 8 very mature trees with tons of leaves! Gotta keep it short - I'm on my way to the backyard to enjoy my perfectly cut grass and hang out with the kids!!!
