I was really happy to come across this store in Hillcrest Mall. In terms of Totoro merchandise, there were colour variations I don't normally see, especially green. Of course, there are many sizes and colours of plushies to choose from, but also tote bags, figurines, and some neat in-store art decor that were all different from what I normally find. The really neat section for me is The Little Prince merchandise, which you don't tend to find much of elsewhere. Here, it rivals the extent of the Ghibli selection, with books, clothing, mugs, plushies, and puzzles. I was really eyeing the $45 Fox plushie, which was really nicely made, but I turned to one of their wooden 3D laser cutting puzzles instead, along with a mug that actually is from France. There were several books to choose from that went from toddler to adult level, including an absolutely gorgeous pop-up that really was more like a work of art for the coffee table. It's not a large space, but the amount of stock is still pretty good. The staff were polite and efficient in ringing up my purchases. When I saw the payment terminal I was worried that I wouldn't be able to get a paper receipt, but thankfully, it was provided without a hitch. This store is good enough to make Hillcrest Mall a return destination for me. If you're into Studio Ghible, The Little Prince, or Bandai, I would highly recommend checking them out. If you're into wooden puzzles and unusually themed puzzles as well, same. You can also check out their their website first to see what kind of merchandise they carry. IMHO, they win over the Smoke Shop when it comes to maple quality and selection. You'll find maple syrup, maple cookies, maple candies, maple butter, maple chocolate, and maple coffee and tea, just to name the most prominent. I also put TSM on top when it comes to sports stuff ... you'll find a sturdy amount of reasonably priced Toronto Raptors and Blue Jays gear. They also best their cross-walkway rivals in things the Smoke Shop just doesn't have (or has so little of I missed it): TSM wins on RCMP (a.k.a. The "Mounties") stuff, post cards (expensive, but excellent quality), Anne of Green Gables (the famed Canadian novel character) items, and on international flags. When it comes to the standard Toronto- and Canada-adorned items, both stores do well with t-shirts, magnets, mugs, bags, sunglasses, bags, and the rest. There isn't a lot of crossover, though, making both stores must-sees for the souvenir hunter. With a straightforward name like "The Souvenir Market" you expect an abundance and variety of great stuff ... and, boy, TSM delivers!

They had T-shirts, pajamas, magnets, toys, hats, sweatshirts, shot glasses, post cards, snacks, and a bunch a hockey and maple syrup stuff. The store is pretty well organized, the guy working was very nice and there goods are reasonably priced. I got all the gifts and souvenirs that I needed, with a bit that I didn't need. If you are in the market for some souvenirs while in Toronto, this should be one of your first stops.

You could say there are also communal tables. One thing I'm not a fan of is I can't see what's in the other side of the food court from one side to another. I would like to see all my options at once. Also, it would be good if the stairs on north side from the food court would allow me to get to second level (upstairs). The shops seem to show some promise with Miniso and Dollarama. Keep adding interesting shops and food options and I could bump it up a star.

Though it was slightly smaller than the location on Bloor, it was pretty busy and popular. The girls working there were pretty nice. There was stocked with a lot of Kpop and cute anime stuff. I went to the Kpop section. The posters and the photocards (and probably many of the smaller items) seem relatively cheap while the albums are on the pricey side. It gives off a warm, chill and welcoming vibe. I will try to come back when I visit Toronto during my free time.

The cookies are fresh. In the past I was able to purchase these same maple cookies at Cross Border U.S. - Canada shopping by vehicle Duty Free many years ago which I greatly missed. Staff are selected for being passionate about what they sell and being kids at heart. They know what they have and can curate perfect gifts for any child. Unlike most toy stores, the items they sell are hand-selected by the owners and meet the present interests of modern day kids. Most of the products are good quality and stand the test of time. Prices are reasonable. They are all also pros at wrapping and can get everything done in minutes. You also get ToyTown points for every dollar spent. During the pandemic they started offering delivery to Toronto residents and it always feels handled with care. I should add they are also very active in the community. What can I say?
