Michael Anderson-RE/MAX Consultants Realty I - Trying to extract ridiculous charges from our 3k security deposit.

Unethical Dishonest Real Estate Agent Who Brings the Drama…read more Mike represents our old landlord as the landlord is trying to sell/rent Port Condominiums unit 1208 which I lived in. Mike is an unethical jerk who made our lives a living hell while living there. Mike used to be on the board of the Port Condominiums and he has a terrible reputation among residents for being dishonest to put it mildly. I am not sure why my landlord hired him. Consistent with mike's slime-ball reputation, from the moment we first interacted with him, he told a big fat lie that we were required to sign a new lease (our old landlord sold the property, therefore the new landlord assumed obligations of old lease). The only plausible explanation mike would state this is because he would benefit from a commission. We requested an additional month to stay as our new home was being remodeled and Mike told us that he had a new tenant that was moving in right away so we had to get out ASAP. However, Port management said no one was moving into our unit immediately after us moving out--another lie told by Mike. Also the unit is currently still on the market, so the proof is in the pudding. Moreover once we were moving out, Mike tried to charge us a bunch of fees that were absurd. He is a real estate agent and should know what is and isn't legal. First he tried to charge us "overstaying" fees because we couldn't accommodate when he wanted to do a walk through. He also tried to make ridiculous charges from our security deposit. See screenshots included. A lot of these items are normal wear and tear, and the unit is old as hell so not sure why anyone would paint a metal washer dryer that is probably 10+ years old? He falsely tried to convey that we treated the apartment like a frat house--which is blatantly false. I took timestamped photos like a lawyer upon move out because I knew that he would bring the drama.

Gregg was the Property Manager for a house that I was renting. It was a terrible experience from…read morebeginning to end. He commented negatively on my single mom status, and "wasn't sure that I could pay my rent". He had me pay over $12,000 to just move into the house because he didn't think I would be able to do it. I felt discriminated against from the minute we met! I knew from the beginning he was going to be a nightmare, however the price for the house was good and it was a great neighborhood, so I ignored his bigotry and moved in anyway. He was never helpful, he created constant drama between the landlord and myself, absolutely twisting all information. He made constant errors as the Property Manager since the first day (forgetting I needed to get approved by the association and prolonging my move-in date) of this house. I would not recommend for anyone to do business with this person. He may be great to work with, if you are not a minority or a single mom?? I strongly believe that it was due to my single mom status and race. Being a single WOMAN, divorced, single mother, and Hispanic was not to his liking and it showed, he was very difficult to work with. Absolutely terrible character of a person!

What a disappointing experience I had with Gregg Cook, Re/Max during recent negotiations to rent a…read morehome in Pembroke Pines. Numerous red flags occurred over several phone calls and an in-person meeting to which Gregg made comments inquiring about my marital and political status. Comments mentioned making sure I didn't have a "crazy ex husband with a machine gun because he doesn't want any drama" and "as long as I wasn't a liberal Democrat, I'd be fine." I was assured by Gregg at the end of the call, we were all set because he could tell by speaking to me, "I was no drama". Despite his distasteful comments, I pursued the application process because the home fit my family's needs. I provided timely documentation showing my current 800+ credit score, substantial income and letter of recommendation from previous landlord along my driver's license. Through my agent, I was given a verbal yes that Gregg intended to proceed with my financial offer for full price on the property. I was notified 48hrs later via my agent that Gregg requested to meet in person for five minutes. During the in person meeting, I was questioned regarding choices about my career path and financial performance of the company I work, followed by my ability to relax and cut loose. Soon after, Gregg also made comments about the pool service person as "LGBT person that wore combat boots but being 'ok' with him because she did a good job". My reference joined the meeting and was also taken aback at his line of questioning. At the close of the meeting, I was asked to speak with the home owner, Debbie. And what I thought was a positive conversation, I was told by my agent that the acceptance of my offer had been rescinded with the reason provided, I was "too corporate". His lack of professionalism in his dealings with me are completely unacceptable and against state/federal housing laws. I am confident that I will find the right home, however I do not wish any other person to be subjected to the treatment I experienced working with Gregg.
