As a result, I have started a job out in California. During the process of cancelling utilities, I ran into trouble with ADT and their local authorized dealer "Protect Your Home" who refused to release me from the last year of my 3 year contract for home security. That caught me off-guard and despite 3 hours on the phone yesterday trying to resolve the issue, they will not budge and are asking for $500 for contract cancellation. I have never in 22 years run into such disrespect and unwillness to account for my dedicated service and waive the costs for something outside my control. I expected more from a local business in the Barksdale area. DO NOT USE THIS LOCAL AFFILIATE - CALL ADT CORPORATE TO GET SERVICE. There is a difference and Corp ADT will not intervene or provide you any support if you have an issue with this local affiliate. Protect Your Home was rude, disrespectful and unwilling in any way to work with me regarding the early cancellation of the 3 year contract.
