Service requested was a chimney repair/rebuild. Estimated cost $12.5K. Three different crews of…read morebricklayers. 1st used wrong colour brick (yellow instead of brown) Poor bricklaying skills. New chimney leaned on an angle and had to be torn down and rebuilt by a second pair of bricklayers and finally finished. by a third. They replaced the metal cap for the flue liner. Cap blew off one day after they left the job site. Cap that they used was a used one and not new. I ended up paying $11K. They left two wheel barrows full of small bits of brick and mortar on the lawn and around the concrete pad of a hot tub. It took about 3 hours for me to clean up. Bits of mortar and brick left on the roof around the base of the chimney. No response to e-mails or calls. Have to find another chimney repair company to reinstall the chimney cap. Their brochure stated no money accepted until the job completed the customer's satisfaction yet at each step in the process there was a demand for more money by e-transfer (so that once accepted by them could not be recovered). I had 2 other companies come & say my only option was to install an internal weeping tile system that would go to my sump pump. The amount of water I had coming in was so minimal that it would evaporate before even making its way to the sump pump. I called Crackmasters after getting recommended by my parents & old neighbours. I spoke with Tina over the phone who was VERY knowledgeable and went through their process with me. Knowing the age of my house, seeing photos of my concerns, and other key factors, she was able to determine that we only needed to fill the cracks.
