If you do decide to use this company, do not use Captian Larry, he seemed very knowledgeable and friendly over the phone, but he did not know anything about the architecture in the city and things he said could provide proved to be all talk. Very disappointed with the entire experience. On top of this, the weather was nasty on the particular day of the charter, and they did not cancel. I know the weather is not their fault, but the safety of the passengers should always be the first priority, and I believe money is theirs.

Beyond the little things ie: being punctual, giving a helpful safety run down and making you immediately feel comfortable on the boat.... Kevin is an exceptional guide who's extremely skilled/knowledgeable in his trade. You'll catch fish and impressive ones at that. I also have to mention, he was the hardest working guide we've ever experienced. There was never a "now we wait" scenario. Kevin was constantly checking the gear, tide, wind, bait etc... he didn't sit down. We were the second leg of his day but you would NEVER know it. The guy is truly impressive and fishing is his calling. We caught 7 fish - 5 of which were MONSTER lake trout. Each and every reel was a thrill!.. Much to our dismay we don't live in Chicago but every time we're in town for a visit, a day out with Captain Kevin will be on the agenda. We drank a few brews, listened to music, and caught lots of fish. More than anything, it's nice to experience good times with good people. You almost don't even care if you catch any fish. Jeff and Jessika are great. Beautiful down to earth folks and we really love going out there with them. Heading out, we played music and watched the Chicago skyscrapers sink into the ground. No cellphone service way out there, so we're just out there enjoying uninterrupted time together. We all draw numbers to determine the rotation and for the second time we went through the rotation twice. Everyone got to haul in fish. I almost didn't want us to write this review right now because we want to book another outing in September and I selfishly want to go out with Jeff and Jessika again. He and the first mate also let us help with some of the sailing tasks. The Radiance is an impressive boat, and even with light winds, we got a good taste of sailing on Lake Michigan. An added bonus is launching out of Montrose Harbor, which is surrounded by a park, golf course, nature trail, food spots and places to swim.

We were a group of 6 and looking for a weekend 2 hour sail. Since I was booking last minute, most of the other charters I enquired were either booked or quoted jaw dropping rates. Captain Ben accommodated us all on his amazing race boat at a fairly reasonable rate. He is a professional racer and it showed when he cruised the boat in fast into Lake Michigan., much to our thrill. We took out own beer and some food. He provides you with drinking water and a place to cook too. Captain Ben is an instructor too so its fun learning the basics if you're a first timer. Wish we could do longer but with friends flying out and everything, we could sail for only 2 hours. But it was an amazing experience and my friends loved it. We will definitely go back.

Veronica was extremely accommodating and great to work with. As the day approached I noticed rain in the forecast and she kept in touch with me up until the moment we boarded with updates and even options for alternate days should we choose to pick another date due to weather. We ended up sticking with the original date and it turned out to be a beautiful night! There was a total of 8 of us and it was extremely comfortable and spacious. They were fully equipped with a full cabin, including bathroom, cups, ice, etc..., even had some unexpected birthday decorations displayed for me We were able to play our own music and basically just enjoy as we saw fit. The Captain, Jose, was also great and extremely accommodating, taking us wherever we wanted to go, including a beautiful skyline cruise down the river. He spent the whole day with us, teaching us about the culture, and making sure everyone had a great time. We started off checking out an iguana park, then visited a few small towns and even a local cemetery that gave us a real feel for Costa Rican life. Rancho Los Coyotes was a highlight, they showed us how they process sugar cane juice the traditional way, and we got to taste it fresh. Lunch was delicious, real Costa Rican food that hit the spot after a busy morning and our favorite food out of our entire week in CR. We did some souvenir shopping and ended the day at Coco Beach and Playa Hermosa, the perfect spots to relax and take in the beautiful ocean views as we caught the sunset. The whole experience went way beyond what we expected, would totally recommend it to anyone visiting Costa Rica. Pura Vida!
