She has never tested me for a fungal issue diagnosed by my lung doctor a few years ago via a Blood test. He referred me to an infectious disease doctor who never treated me since the medication was very strong and could damage my kidney. Many months after a near death experience in 2023/2024, I was still feeling pain in my liver. Dr Passalaqua was recommended and when I told her my disease doctor said my discomfort and pain would subside, she yelled at me to say "Who told you that I shouldn't experience any pain, she said it should/ could take a year and a half to heal since my abscesses were so bad and I was days from dying. Now I am sick again and exhausted all tests available and when she came in the room she yelled that my fungal issues from a few years ago were resolved. I was Never retested, so her aggressive attitude was not warranted. She continued to be condescending and when I tried to explain my symptoms and tests to date she kept shutting me down. I aggressively through her out of my room and asked her not to return! Also when I called her answering service last evening asking to speak to the on call doctor, which I understand she is the only doctor in her office for, her office staff disguised her self as Dr Passalaqua. Her voice was the same as the office girl who said an August 6th was the soonest appointment. It was unacceptable because I have been battling symptoms since April 30. Time is of the essence and I am my only advocate. Needless to say I will never return or recommend Dr Passalaqua ever again. I called my former disease specialist and they order blood test as that is how it was diagnosed back in 2023. She wanted to do a sputum test. She was NOT listening to my requests or concerns!! A horrible experience despite her 30 years of experience told to me by the attending ER doctor.

Why do people who come in after me, go in before? Beyond that, they will try to sell you gels and moisturizes. They may help you and that's great. Just be warned they are pricey and not always covered by insurance. Like I said, Dr. Smith has been great. But the wait time is almost not worth it.

In that time, she treated me for various ailments, including but not limited to the the sinus infections that I got every month for a year straight, a broken foot that no one could diagnose, and injuries after a car crash. She can be a bit brusque, but she knows what she is talking about and truly cares about her patients; case in point, when she was afraid she upset my mother, she called me to make sure she was okay (with a HIPAA release on file, of course). She was also willing to go above and beyond the call of duty, prescribing birth control for me and even calling it into a pharmacy in New York when something went kablooey with my prescription three days before I was supposed to fly to California. Her office assistants are equally kind, pulling thousands of strings to get me the physical forms i needed, on no notice, to go to college. It's true you will wait sometimes. Why?
