Since regularly seeing Dr. Shiff, I no longer fear the dentist. The staff are warm and friendly and make sure that the patient is comfortable. Dr. Shiff is down to earth. Examinations and cleanings DON'T hurt. In fact, I was so comfortable the last time that I almost fell asleep...asleep with tools in my mouth. Like a regular day at the spa. Dr. Shiff is also excellent at finding other oral or facial problems (skin, jaw, etc). The only negative aspect, is that it's difficult to become a new patient. You'll have to wait for cancellations. Sure that may be nagtive, but it's always a good sign. I'm looking forward to my next appointment!

I was left sitting in the waiting room and no one said anything to me. After a half hour, I approached the receptionist and asked how much longer I would have to wait. She said, Oh, the dentist had an emergency! I said, well I had an appointment scheduled and no one mentioned that he had an emergency and it was going to take long and it would have been appreciated if someone had mentioned it to me! She said well, it shouldn't be much longer. I waited again another half hour without anyone asking if I'd like to re-schedule. I had to once again approach the receptionist and asked if I should re-schedule. Then she said oh, yes, I think so, so we re-scheduled for the following week. The following week, I showed up 15 minutes early. I checked in. She said ok, it shouldn't be long. I said to myself, I am going to give them 15 minutes and if I'm not seen by then, I'm leaving. I waited and waited and even waited an additional 15 minutes, so 30 minutes in total and they still didn't call my name or give me any reason for the long wait once again! I just got up and left without saying anything. I never received an apology or a phone call to this day! I guess after all these years, I am not a valued customer!

I sincerely appreciate a well run business and this location never lets me down. I very rarely have to wait, max of 5 mins if ever. Relative to the total experience, The St Laurent Dental Centre, and specifically Dr. Atul Joshi's office, does a good job of making you feel at ease when you sit in the chair. Him and his staff personalize your experience, set amidst a calm atmosphere. They're also helpful in giving practical advice without making you feel like a oral monster. This becomes evident when you see other patients, who have been for the most part going to Dr. Joshi's office for years, forging a long-term relationship. After all, feeling calm, comfortable and at ease is all you can really ask for from your dentist.

Recently I went on a hunt to look for a good dentist in Ottawa and I happen to luck out since its…read moreclose to my work and the best one I've ever had (out of 4). I am of course speaking off Susan Daftary and her amazing staff, at the Terry Fox Dental Centre. I was having sharp pain in one of my tooth so I walked into the clinic and I got an examination the same day. Two days later Dr Daftary was playing tug o' war with my wisdom tooth and well the tooth lost. Dr Daftary is very polite and takes her time to explain everything to the patient. As far as skill goes, she is absolutely amazing. I felt no pain in getting my wisdom tooth removed and I was back at work 10 minutes after my procedure. She is also very knowledgeable and will go out of her way to accommodate the patient. I wish I could say I won't be going back but I think that's just wishful thinking. At least I know that when I return, I'll be in good hands.

As far as the cleaning yes sometimes they can be rough but I think that just comes with the territory, for me personally I always leave with a feeling of a clean mouth and a smile:) not only do I think there prices are fair they even told me when my benefits ran out and if I would like to proceed with the cleaning they told me exactly how much I'd have to pay out of pocket, that is something not many would do and for that they will have my business in the future! Ps : they also offer Invisalign treatments avilable and will be doing it through dentistree family dentistree as well!
