Recently moved from Chicago, to the suburbs area; and had to find a new Dentist. My experience visiting the office went very well. The lobby area is calming, and the receptionist at the front desk are really friendly and helpful. The dental hygienist and dentist provided outstanding bedside manner. I am extremely disappointed with the periodontal treatment my mother received at Smile Obsession on August 5, 2026. I accompanied my mother to her appointment, where she was diagnosed with needing four-quadrant scaling and root planing (deep cleaning) and was billed for treatment of all four quadrants. The entire appointment lasted approximately 30 minutes. As a dental hygienist myself, I was concerned enough to have my mother evaluated again on September 2. At that appointment, I observed significant remaining calculus, including calculus on the right side that had not been adequately addressed. I subsequently had to provide additional periodontal treatment, including re-treatment of the right side and completion of the left side. I am currently requesting that Smile Obsession's higher-level management/clinical leadership review my mother's records and treatment and address our concerns regarding the care that was provided and the charges incurred. Staff was unable to provide any assistance on the matter as it now has to go to the people whom are actually in charge. I am posting this because I believe patients should be able to make informed decisions about their dental care and should feel confident that the treatment they are paying for is being thoroughly provided and documented. I hope the company takes this concern seriously and provides an appropriate resolution. read more

I never went to this company. I had an appointment on April13 and 3 days before the appointment they notified me in the morning that I had to call by 1 pm or they would cancel my appointment. I work during the day. So I didn't even get the message until after I got off which was well after 1. By then they already cancelled the appointment. The worst part was they billed my insurance company for over $400 for a cleaning, exam, and X-rays that they obviously did not do. I have never met these people. Unfortunately since Boulder Hill dental office was transitioned to Smile Obsession their level of service professionalism had drastically reduced. I say unfortunately because I used to really enjoy it when it was Boulder hill dental. I attribute the problems in the past couple of years to the new sop they've adopted under their new ownership. It's been my experience that they cannot seem to retain staff so they are constantly retraining people. 3 times I've now had standard cleanings done by a substitute or traveling dentist instead of a hygienist. Then that level of cleaning is questionable and when the dentist does it (they don't have the same skill set and it shows) and they now need two people to do a standard cleaning. I've also had appointments had to be postponed or rescheduled due to a call off when I've arrived for my appointment. I go for an appointment twice a year and yet I've had 5 different problems with appointments. I've learned that a centralized call center will try to move appointments around in order to maximize their scheduling. It's not for the benefit of the customer but rather to squeeze in more people. My most recent experience had my appointment with a hygienist and my preferred dentist altered so that I was treated by the replacement staff in order to accommodate another. They are soliciting for yelp reviews so I thought I should be honest. read more

Went there and told I have a cavity. I they took x-rays taken to confirm this. I am having cavity fixed in 6 months. I think it should be fixed now, but dentist said to see her in 6 months. I don't think that is such a good plan. Too long to wait in my opinion. My cavity will grow during this wait period. Why would a dentist do this?? read more

I took my daughter in to have a front tooth filling done. In less than a year the filling falls out, they find decay behind the filling, and her tooth cracks in half all the way up to the root. This is completely unacceptable and if you want to save your beautiful smile don't go here. read more

The entire staff at Boulder Hill Dental is great. At my last cleaning, the dental hygienist was very thorough and the dentist was very kind. I forgot to take my night guard initially and the dentist let me come back with my night guard immediately after my appointment so that she could look at it. Then, Michelle in reception worked with me to set up a visit for a new night guard fitting. The hygienist who fitted the night guard was great too and so patient with my gag reflex. read more

I had had such great service and excellent care at Boulder Hill Dental. The staff got me right in when I told them I had a crabby tooth that was in need of some help, the Dr. took a good look at it and booked an appointment for me to come right back for a cavity repair. I really do not like having my teeth worked on but the Doc numbed me up perfectly - did not feel a thing - and got me out of there and right back to work in less than an hour. A big plus for me? Dr. Commean served our country as a Captain in the US Army. He deserves my business just for that. This place is great. Everyone is super sweet and friendly. Amanda is great and Dr. Commean too. I used to hate going to the dentist but I don't mind coming here. First time I've gone and had a root canal anywhere that I feel no discomfort (besides a tired jaw). They do a great job! They have even called to check on me & called me when there were earlier openings offering them to me. I've been going to boulder hill dental for about 6 years now. IMO they are the best around. I had some very bad experiences with dentists in the past. Within my first few visits with boulder hill dental I was finally pain free and able to eat cold food!
