When it comes to glowing and beautiful skin, some can call themselves lucky, while others need an…read moreextra effort. I am one of the latter. A week before the Bank Holiday weekend, I have decided to book myself in for a peel in preparation for a short city break with my sister and best friend. I have called up Aesthetics Lab and booked myself in for a consultation, followed by the peel. At arrival I was greeted by a very friendly receptionist who gave me an online questionnaire to fill in. It took me 10 to 12 minutes to finish. I did arrive early for my appointment, so I had plenty of time to kill. Joanna, very lovely and extremely helpful, discussed with me my skin history, problems and needs. Once we agreed on the treatment for my skin (we both agreed that my skin is dull & congested), I have been taken to the treatment room, where I met a very lovely aesthetician. I lied down on the bed, got tucked in & was ready for my peel. First my skin was preped by cleaning my skin & cleansed. A simple procedure, however it feels really nice when done by somebody else. Its time for the peel! A specifically selected (for my skin type) liquid peel was smoothly brushed on my skin. I had to stay with the peel on my skin for couple of minutes. It felt a bit itchy and stingy as it was working its way into my skin. The peel was removed & my skin was prepared for the 2nd part of my treatment: LED lights. This was my favourite part as it felt like you were bathing under the sun. After the treatment my skin felt a bit tight, however this went away after couple of hours. I have to say that that my skin feels like a baby's skin and very happy with the end result. The whole treatment lasted around an hour & even my black heads from my nose were removed. I have not seen my skin so clean & smooth for a long time. Higly recommend Aesthetics Lab.

When you first enquire about treatments, you have a one-to-one discussion with a knowledgeable treatment co-ordinator who can make suggestions tailored to your needs. Test patches are offered before you start certain treatments to make sure they are suitable for you. Medispa is where you go if you want to see genuine results- it's not necessarily a place to go to if you're looking for relaxed pampering. Although some people peeping into the sleek, white entrance/reception may get the impression that Medispa is somewhat clinical and intimidating, don't be put off by it- all the receptionists and therapists are very friendly and professional, and make you feel welcome straight away. The therapist I always ask for is Noelia. She has amazing technical and biochemical understanding, as well as considerable clinical experience. She explains clearly how treatments work, she is very honest about which treatments would be suitable for you and which ones wouldn't do anything for you. Even within certain treatments she will personalise them to optimise results without causing side effects i.e. if you bruise easily, she will use a different machine within the same treatment to avoid damaging capillaries. I really appreciate this, as well as her honesty, and because of that trust her implicitly when she is working on my body or face, and makes product recommendations. Oh, and she also has a lovely personality.

PLEASE READ and GO ELSEWHERE...I signed up to Yelp just to write a review for this place. I was so,…read moreso disappointed by the whole experience. I left feeling furious. NOT THE USUAL COLONIC. OPEN NOT CLOSED. I chose it because of the great website, thorough forms that were sent ahead of the appointment and good advertising (by using Google ads - another lesson learnt). Harley St doesnt mean quality! Difficult to find. Dirty bathroom when I arrived. Clean premises other than that and the therapist was good hearted but seemed to have NO knowledge other than soundbites she used to reply to my questions with. I had to have three colonics as part of a cleanse in the past two weeks, this was the second and it put me in the worst mood. It is NOT an OPEN COLONIC which is the typical one, it is CLOSED (look it up) which means it's like paying £85 for an enema and then having to self push a huge amount of water out - like a trial run at having a baby but out of the wrong hole. She couldn't tell me why the closed was different to the open or better so I thought I'd look it up later. Apparently it's preference. She then said this doesn't hurt - before her inserting the little nozzle that made me yelp loudly in pain. I still thought maybe I'm being sensitive as I became more and more unimpressed until... hardly anything came out - it was really just water. Every time she came in - (you are left on your own) she would say "Oh look at the yellow and brown of the water - those are the toxins leaving the kidney." No they aren't! They are just the colour of the water from have been mixed with poo! After 30 minutes of water and the occasional bit of matter coming out I pressed the buzzer and left. Telling her I would write this because I just wish I had looked it up first. Hope this helps.

The booking system was…read moreefficient and I had to complete a lengthy questionnaire before hand for the director of the clinic to review and make sure the treatment would be suitable and beneficial to me. I arrived early and was greeted by my therapist and she invited me in to wait until my appointment time. I then met the director for a consultation for 10 minutes beforehand to go through the process, why I was interested in having the colonic and also exactly what would be happening in my body during the treatment. There was only one inch of tubing to insert (TMI, sorry) and the system meant that you could comfortably release any time you felt like it. It was comfortable as the water was temperature regulated and my therapist lowered the speed of water for me to make it even more comfortable. I only had some minor cramping and the therapist gave me both a manual massage and massage with an infrared device that really helped to ease pain. She talked to me initially then gave me some privacy when I was more relaxed after w hole in the process. I was debreied but both my therapist and the director and given an electrolyte to drink after. They were amazing ladies and made the process so comfrtobale and actually refreshing for me. I would totally recommend!
