Indeed I had a gnarly cavity and infection. She took me in even though I never visited before and she made a very painful and excruciating time for me as easy as possible. One small thing she does that really helps is that she always asks if something she does hurts. Its a small gesture l, but to someone whose always been afraid of the dentist it means the world. Its thanks to her that Im not so afraid of the Dentist now. I wish I could comment on price but Ive got insurance through Delta Dental. But Id definetly give her a shot as she is definetly the best in San Fernando. She's moved into a new place, and although it doesnt look like much from the outside, the inside is pretty comfortable.

Because the appointment felt so rushed and focused mainly on X-rays and cavities, I ended up leaving without addressing the issue that brought me in. It was also frustrating to realize afterward that a gum problem was missed, likely due to the lack of a thorough exam. To be fair, the office itself is clean and the staff are friendly. If you need straightforward cavity work, they seem efficient and quick with that. However, if you're looking for a more thorough evaluation, clear communication, and someone who takes time to listen and answer questions, this may not be the right place. I shouldn't leave a dental appointment feeling like I need to seek a second opinion elsewhere but that's exactly how I felt here.

Dr. Riley is very concerned that his patients do not experience pain, so he goes to great lengths to make sure my visit is not unpleasant. The receptionist at the front desk said they tried to call me, but when I asked which number they had on file, she said they did not have one....so I was never called or contacted in any way about the cancellation. The reason given for the cancellation was that my Medi-Cal ID card had Dr. Atalla's previous address on it. The same address that was on the card when I made the appointment with the receptionist in December, who confirmed Atalla as my PCP. This was such an inconvenience. But no sorry or anything remotely apologetic from the receptionist. I went home and contacted Anthem. Apparently the doctor switched her network but did not inform them, or me. Dr. Atalla is no longer a Medi-Cal provider through Anthem. I hope this helps someone.
