Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from the start. The receptionist was not friendly--when I told her we were here for my son's check-up, all she said was, "OK, you can sit and wait." She was also eating at the desk, which felt unprofessional. The waiting room was full, and there were two families ahead of us. By 11:30, after waiting 30 minutes past our scheduled time, I went to the desk to ask how much longer it would be. A hygienist nearby said it would be another 10 minutes. That meant we would have waited 40 minutes total. I told them I didn't want to wait any longer and asked to cancel the appointment. The receptionist simply said "OK" without asking why or offering an apology. About 10 minutes after we left, the office manager called to apologize, saying the dentist asked her to call on their behalf. While I appreciate the follow-up, the overall experience was not good--especially for a child's first dental visit. Clear communication, professionalism, and a welcoming attitude go a long way, and unfortunately, that was missing here.

They refused to give her nitrous gas and wrapped her up in a pappoose and made me hold her down on the chair. She was so anxious. And all they did was tell her to be quiet and settle down. She was 5 and scared. Then in walks Dr. Turner...like he is God's gift to women or something with his chest hair sticking out from his scrubs. It was disturbing. He maybe gave my daughter a little novicaine but never let it set up and just started drilling as she screamed-blood everywhere. He finished and packed her mouth full of gauze and walked out. The assistant started scolding my daughter saying " what is wrong with you...there is no need to cry...you have the best pediatric dentist working on you and you act like that!?!?" Her mouth was filling up with blood and they just said its dine and handed me some more gauze. When we left I just held my daughter and cried...I could not believe what just happened. I don't expect it to be all unicorns and rainbows- but OMG I am a nurse- I know that is not the way you treat anyone!!!. Since then she has always needed to be sedated for any work done in her mouth. And she is 18 yrs old now. She was seriously traumatized by her experience with Dr. Turner. If you love your children- do NOT take you child here. I swear this is not an exageration!

Early Monday morning at 7:20 A.M. they called me to say if I came now, they could see me. That was good news to hear. Dr. Kyle Ronquist and his assistant, Kim, placed the crown back on my tooth. The procedure was thorough, and I was greatly relieved to have it done so quickly. The staff was very helpful and I am grateful to them.

Full disclosure - I am a complete and utter baby when it comes to any and all dental work and…read moreenvironments. I am scared of everything. Reclining chair - truly terrifying. Clamp on the bib - super frightening. Water rinse - nerve wracking! That being said, my only hesitation with giving my dentist a good review is that it may make it more difficult for me to see him when I need to! Dr. Tarpenning at Hebert Dental is the only reason I do not have dentures right now. He is absolutely the best. I will not see any other dentist. My own child is about to enter dental school and I have told her straight out "I won't see you - only Dr. T!" I honestly cannot speak highly enough about Dr. T and his entire dental staff. From the receptionist to the dental hygienist to the people in billing, you are surrounded by courteous and personable staff. You are made to feel like family. You are cared for. His staff are as exceptional as he is. As an added bonus, they are a lot of fun and go out of their way to get to know you and what you need to make your dental experience as pleasant as it could possibly be. Dr. T is truly outstanding - the most compassionate, gentle, kind and caring dentist I have ever been to. A complete professional with extensive training, knowledge and experience. He knows all of my idiosyncrasies and he is even accustomed to using code words so I don't have a panic attack and yell "Did you just say Root Canal out loud!?!?!" I may have bitten Dr. T on more than one occasion. He doesn't even bat an eyelid when I do it now. I trust him completely. I am certain the feeling is not mutual but he always makes me feel welcome. There is always someone on call, which is beneficial to me because my dental emergencies only seem to happen at 11pm on a Friday. I also love that this practice is very involved in giving back to the community, supporting local and international charities and organizations. The dental offices are bright and welcoming, as are the entire staff and I would recommend them highly to a friend. Side note: I may have, on one occasion, accidentally enjoyed my visit with Dr. T at Hebert Dental. I left with no pain, no plan to return for further work, a smile on my face and some free cherry chapstick! It sounds like I made that up, but it's true - for real.
