Real Talk...Some of those vendors need to throw some of that stuff in the trash. It's not even good enough for Goodwill or Rescue Mission or to even give away for that matter. I couldn't believe the things people actually were trying to sell. But on a different note, I got what I came for...dove soap....so I am content! It's a flea market! Don't understand the low ratings..but hey...to each their own. Lots of stuff, lot of walking, food, knick-knacks, and other rare items. I went here a few weeks ago, however, I was on a time crunch and couldn't peruse like I wanted to, but I was able to walk the whole place and did see a few things that I want to go back to look at. ***please read my honest experience with smileys..***. we planned for over 6 months to go sell tons of nice items that were from a family members estate. we were selling everything for 1.00 each to bless the community, and get everything gone at the same time! we had some of everything. including tvs, name brand clothing, appliances,toys, antiques, etc... you name we had it! we arrived outside around 5:15am, and began setting everything out on the concrete slab tables in outside yard sale area . none of the tables we set up on were reserved, because they did not have the yellow reserved flags on any of them! we just about had everything set up and ready to go around 6:30ish am when a worker in a red vest from smileys walked up and said we had to move because the tables were reserved. we advised him there were not any reserved flags on any of the tables that we had set up on when we arrived, and that is why we chose them. the guy acted like he could care less about the huge inconvenience to us. by the time he arrived around 6;30am , and advised us we had to move elsewhere there was already a lot of sellers set up that had taken the majority (if not all of the empty tables in the isles that were left available by 6:30ish am..) "someone from smileys" had failed to put the flags on the tables!! this careless smileys employee not doing their job in a timely manor costed us our time, money, and caused a huge missed opportunity for a lot of people that really could have benefited from our stuff for 1.00... we were very upset because the "i could care less attitude" from the smileys employee did not offer any resolution to the problem that resulted from their lack of not putting the flags out before they opened for business! 6:30am is a little too late to be putting out reservation tags on tables that were paid to smileys the day before . the smileys employee advised he has been there for 18 yrs! this tells me that the smileys employee was 100% aware of how early sellers start setting up on the outside yard sale table areas, and 100% failed to do his job putting out flags prior to customers arriving, and setting up on sale day!! needless to say..we were beyond upset....so we just loaded all of our things back up, and left. what a huge let down, and terrible experience from smileys flea market today.... if your reading this review, and considering selling your stuff at smileys please take note of what happened to us, and how smileys allows their employees to not do their jobs, and have a i dont care attitude to their customers !! dear smileys.. you have 100% forgotten the following fact! ...without sellers/customers... --------- you do not exist! --------- read more

This is an awesome flea market! This place reminds me of home. The music is playing, the people are nice, there's great deals and smells from food cooking. You need at least a full day or 2 half days to really see everything there is to offer. They have a carousel but sadly it was OOO, hopefully next time we can ride it. We scored some really good deals and almost everyone seems open to negotiation. There's even an ATM and a restroom or two, definitely check them out. read more

The flea market is a great place to make some extra cash I would recommend for people who have stuff to sell

So, I went out there last weekend. Parking is now worse. They have it nicely divided in one-way directions but then you'll find someone parked in the road trying to load or unload something and you can't get out. It's even worse than before with the congestion. I did see one or two people selling parts of guns. I saw people buying parts of guns and walking out with a gun stock. This is legal. But you know what you get when you buy enough parts of a gun? You get a gun in possession of someone who may not be legally entitled to or legally in the country. Gas is high and inflation is high too, and so are most of the prices. It is a struggle to do business with some vendors due to the language barrier. No way would I be tempted to buy something to eat here. I don't think this is a dangerous place, yet. It could become, though. Getting out is just as hard as getting in if not more. This is truly an example of too much on too little space. I'm not sure if the state regulates such stuff but they should. I'm sure they're doing the best they can to make things safe and make driving in and out as safe as possible but it's not enough. It's like a car and someone wants to drive down the road but has no taillights, headlights, insurance or license...but they're doing the best they can. I would say that this actually needs twice the amount of parking for the amount of people that show up. For the amount of vendors on the drive in, park and set up, no way would I try to navigate that minefield with cars so close together, kids, people running here and there. I did buy two plants from a woman who couldn't speak English. No problem. She had maybe a grand daughter there and I do speak enough of the language to get by. But, I don't know the names of plants in Spanish. Turns out one of the plants she sold me, while is used for cooking, is poisonous and can be considered an invasive species. On top of that, you can't plant it next to anything else because the chemicals emitted from it kills other plants. Now, how does that work with humans? Is it harmful? Remember that little ole plant called kudzu? It started out as a novelty too. Went back Sat. It was worse than before. If someone yelled immigration, the place would clear out in a heart beat. The way it's overgrown, if there were fire on some parts of it or issue, emergency vehilces would not be able to get in. It's overgrown and the parking is so limited that some park on the road where there are 'do not park' signs. The covered buildings that hve been there for years are partly abandoned. Most pay the ten bucks for the day on what should be parking. You can't advertise something in a language without adding the same in English which you'll see here. That's a violation of state law. Not even going to go to the health certificates that should be displayed. read more

Plenty of vendors but wares aren't any cheaper than you'd find elsewhere. If you enjoy browsing, there are plenty of knick knacks. Hot weather can make walking about uncomfortable but this is the South. Some food & drinks can be found here & there. Crowded parking even on a weekday. read more

Awesome place. Lots of vendors and stuff for sell. You can also sell here and make some good money. The outside vendors are the best. You can find anything here from antiques, books, jewelry, to fresh vegetables . My husband and I met here in 1991 and were married less than a month later. We have been married for almost 25 years now. We go every weekend and always come home with something. read more

If you want junk, go visit Fred Sanford. Your second best bet is this flea market. Believe me when I say it's not worth it. Also, let me warn you about the food...don't eat it. It's overpriced, overcooked, and not worth it. You pay a lot of money and barely get anything on your plate. Especially at the barbecue joint in the front of the flea market. Go next door and get yourself a funnel cake. That's the only thing worth eating out there. Even the Spanish food is disgusting. I ordered chorizo tacos and they burnt my tacos. Char and crust all over. That's both of the Spanish food stations. Never again will I eat at Smiley's and I won't be shopping at that dump either. read more

Be aware this place is funky, but it can also be fun. There is an absolutely crazy mix of stuff for sale, as well as services. Let's see, they sell...furniture, coins, jewelry, electronics, clothes, military surplus, groceries, candy, office supplies, produce, appliances, oils/incense, small livestock, puppies, shoes, fresh citrus fruit, plants, trees, motorcycle wear and much, much more There is even an Asian grocery store in the building in the middle, which is actually open all week. You can also eat yourself silly, get your haircut and ride a carousel. Don't get me wrong, some of the vendors sell total junk and there are quite a few unusual characters floating around, but just like their tagline promises, "You never know what you're gonna find at Smiley's". Another thing to keep in mind is that speaking Spanish will give you an edge. The flea market is very popular with the Hispanic community and I've run into a handful of vendors who don't speak English particularly well. The flip side of that is that you can get some killer Mexican cuisine from a couple of the food trucks. The other nice thing about Smiley's is that it is an affordable place to sell your own stuff if you want to have a garage sale without using your own garage. They rent out these cement picnic tables for cheap that get more foot traffic than most people will get if they hold a regular yard/garage sale. If you've never ever been it's worth going at least once because it's fascinating place. read more
