Finding a fence company that will do "smaller" jobs was a bit of a struggle, but thankfully Colton was happy to help. He came out at the expected time, gave a fair quote and since we were planning on doing it eventually anyway, I trusted him and his crew at MiCo Development Group to install a 2nd gate on the other side of the fence. The quote for the project was fair and delivered quickly through email via a customer portal. Payment for the deposit was simple and easy to do and everything was honest and straightforward. We scheduled a time for the work to be done a few weeks after the quote and Colton was communicative about the best days, letting us know that they had to adjust slightly for the Thanksgiving holiday, but was also clear in checking in ahead the day before to make sure the date worked out. When the work was done, they showed up on time and went over the agreed upon specs ahead of time. Colton and Mike paid attention to every detail I mentioned (such as a specific gate latch that I wanted) before starting. And in the middle of the job, when they accidentally hit a sprinkler line, they were honest about it and ensured that it was fixed properly before calling the job complete. The repairs were done in about half a day and now I have the piece of mind of (two!) working gates. Professional, friendly, prompt and fairly priced, as well as amazing customer service makes MiCo Development stand out above any other company here on Yelp. I hired TFP to stain my 700+ foot privacy fence. I waited…read moreuntil everything was completed before leaving a review because I wanted to be fair about the entire experience. The fence staining itself turned out acceptable. The cleanup afterward was poor. I found paper scraps, a three-foot steel pole and two steel lids from five-gallon stain buckets left in my yard. I didn't see one of the lids before mowing and ran over it, damaging my mower blades. I never contacted them about that and was willing to let the cleanup issues go in light of them providing a free gallon of stain but they never provided it. Leaving those things in my yard was very sloppy workmanship. My biggest disappointment was the follow-through afterward. Myles had promised to leave me a gallon of the Wood Defender Sable stain for future touch-ups. A couple areas dried lighter than the rest, and I even told him I would do the touch-ups myself if they didn't darken so he wouldn't have to come back. For more than three weeks I contacted him several times. Initially he repeatedly said he would drop off the stain, but never did. Eventually he stopped responding altogether. Not only is this poor service, it's just plain rude. What turned this into a disappointing experience was not only the poor clean up, but also being repeatedly being told something would be done, having it not happen, and eventually being ignored. I need a contractor to do what he says he'll do, or at least communicate honestly when he can't. If getting a promised gallon of stain after three weeks is this difficult, what happens if you actually need warranty service?

The installation felt rushed, and when the crew finished the job, no one conducted a final walkthrough with me to inspect the completed fence or address any concerns. I found several areas with workmanship issues that should have been identified during a proper final inspection. My biggest concern is the way the swing gate was installed and supported at the main fence line. I recently contacted Midlands Fence and asked them to return and add a post to properly address the issue. What is most disappointing is that I have given the company an opportunity to come back and correct the problems, but they have not responded to my request. I wasn't asking for the entire fence to be redone--I simply wanted the gate installation issues addressed. What separates a good contractor from a poor experience is how the company handles those issues afterward. A final walkthrough and a willingness to return and correct legitimate concerns should be part of professional customer service. I had hoped Midlands Fence would stand behind their work and give me the opportunity to resolve this directly with them before leaving a negative review. Unfortunately, their lack of response has left me very disappointed with both the installation and the customer service. I would not recommend Midlands Fence based on my experience.

They hit a snag with the permit which was ironed out and approved by the City on 8/5/24. 100 days later, no word on when the fence will be installed. I've called and left messages for Cean who no longer answers. I called the office and went straight to voice mail. Left another message and no return call which is typical. I have to call and text multiple times to get a response from anyone and then the response is we'll get in touch with the manufacturer and will let you know what they say tomorrow......of course, they have never called back. I'm still waiting.....have paid over $3,000 in June and still sitting with no fence and no ETA nearly 5 months after paying the deposit.......completely pathetic. I would not re-hire this company nor recommend them.
