Orange Law is the most unprofessional law office I have EVER stepped into. Madison, pregnant receptionist, was smoking a vape pen in the main lobby while assisting me. She has no people skills, is incompetent, and extremely rude. It appeared to be "bring your kid to work day" as staff's kids were running around the office and jumping on the furniture. Karan won't fight your personal injury case unless you have a minimum of $15,000 in medical billing fees. And if you don't, he will be sure to refer you for different treatments with multiple doctors (he showed me a list of 50 he refers to) until you accrue enough fees for his liking. The whole consultation seemed like a scheme. I felt like I was literally in a circus with a clown named Karan, especially with all the orange walls, flooring, and furniture.

So, of course I trusted that I was in good hands. This is far from the truth. The first time I met with him, it felt like an interrogation. He asked me if I was lying, he said that my mother was raising my children- when in reality we're coparenting. He put me on a payment plan. We agreed on 500 a month, and somehow he stated that I had to pay him another 500 on the 16th. I gave him a check that didn't go through because of my car payment that came out the same day. I got a money order for 500$ the next Friday to pay him. I get to the office and it's empty. He comes in with shorts on and looks at me and says, " when is the next payment?" I was in shock honestly. He had not given me any updates on the case. As far as I know I paid him to do one thing- for a notice of representation. I texted him about not responding to my texts and sent him a screenshot of what another poster had said on here to see what the explanation was. He texted back" I'm withdrawing from your case. Good luck." Then, he came back and said that he would give me another chance. At this point, I'm cutting my losses. He has a temper and is extremely rude. He doesn't have paralegals and he makes his own rules depending on how they suit him. I'm glad I got out when I did! Please do not hire this lawyer if you want legal help.

I know he thinks that bodes well, however, I am not sure he has opened a book to study law since then. He never took any initiative to know his client or find avenues to defend him. He told my business partner not to speak, rather than letting the judge know he was valedictorian of the Bauer School of Business or has the intellect of very few people you will ever meet in your life. Instead, Fickman gave the absolute worst closing arguments I have ever heard in my life. I would call it fumble freaked it big time. The judge was never informed RELATIVE FACTS that would determine sentencing. Nor was he informed that a fine could be afforded. Instead, Fickman said in his closing argument that his client made 12K the last year he was in business. He didnt mention the last two years where he made 6 figures, and not just barely 6. He told my business partner, who had written the most intelligent response, that reflected exactly who he is and how he thinks, where he wanted to discuss the cost associated in feeding and housing a prisoner. Fickman shut that down, telling him the courts don't care about money. LIKE WHAT?!!! I would recommend him to anyone you dislike. His expertise has aged as he has. I wouldn't let him defend my dog.
