We have visited SML three times and had great experiences through VRBO. My parents were excited to visit and rented a house through SML vacation rentals. They had no potable water for four days and were unable to make coffee, fill up water bottles, or shower. They left a day early. I would not rent from this company. read more

Incompetent staff and apparently little quality control over owners. Great location and view, but for what their property owners charge, well below par value. Almost literally nothing in the house we stayed in worked properly, and it's the job of the rental company to either disclose or price that in, and they failed on both fronts. The Smith Mountain Lake, is like the Lake Anna of the 90's before it got trendy and packed. Spent a week on SML with wife and kids, everyone had a great time, I am disabled with Multiple Sclerosis, after staying for the first couple of days, I had gone down to the store to get some worms for fishing with son, there was an employee (Jeff) that had seen me struggling to get my power chair out of my SUV, he immediately came over and assisted, once my chair was taken out of the car we began talking about the SML fleet of boats, Jeff had told me about the Patriot Cruiser, it was one of Pontoon boat fleet, all tricked out for the disabled. I was able to drive my power chair onto the boat, theres every option to make boat more accessible and easy to use, I thought my days of going out on lake were over, but now I am just looking forward to next visit to SML, all the employees are great and always empathetic to whatever the customer may need.... SML was best family vacation to this date!!!! read more

Established in 1983.

My husband and I purchased Cedar Key Village Resort (10 cabin plus the larger home) in 1983. We now only own one two bedroom cabin and a larger 3 bedroom home. We have totally renovated the homes, investing well over 100 thousand dollars in renovating the homes and installing stunning gardens.

Meet the Business Owner: Alica Y.

We are both retired and loving it! We were the original developers of Cedar Key. We purchased it in 1983 when it was a operated as resort since the 1970's. We have loved Cedar Key and have been an active member to maintain its beauty and serenity. My husband worked for the Farm Credit Administration for over 30 years as its Chief Financial Analyst. I was a social worker for years in the District and then worked as a Realtor for 22 years in Northern Virginia. Our family has made wonderful memories here as I know you will. We take great pride in making sure everyone has a wonderful time. Our homes are always spotlessly clean, well maintained and well loved. So many of our travelers have returned over the years and have told us that Cedar Key is their favorite place to vacation
