Football season is here!…read more I did not formally attend the University to further my education however I love the fact that you can go to sporting events that are within my hometown for example this past football season my husband and I attended a few football games at the NSU ... We were super excited for the new coach Michael Vick! We went to the first game and it was a fairly decent turnout however, the crowds were late entering the field...a lot of confusion going on nevertheless the stadium is beautiful plenty of vendors there if you're not just interested in the game. The parking can be an issue however they did offer parking at the MacArthur mall and we were able to take a shuttle over which was pretty easy and that was free of charge or we had access to take the light rail in Norfolk as well and get let off within a mile or two of the stadium which was free of charge as well. Nevertheless it's a good time if you're into sporting events this is basketball season right now not sure how the teams are doing but it's worth a visit if you're in the area to check out the teams at a collegiate level. Have fun and enjoy life :)

Cheering was an experience lol some of my best friendships were made here and may Dr. Parks and Ms Madge continue to rest in heaven. The two years I was here not one student had something positive to say about their experience. The equipment on campus is either broken or breaking. There is no involvement with professors and students leading to the program directors finding NO point in speaking with me (as the president of the student nursing association ) and even said "don't you have a faculty representative to talk to me instead?" The current dean is 100% incompetent and only cares about her name being the dean. There are a few good professors (Neary and BA being the TOP!!) but the rest don't give a rats booty about how you do or what you do. You get no experience during clinical because professors are so behind and direction is almost always confusing. I would not recommend this school. They will also expel students 100% based off of hearsay and not actual evidence or their devotion to studying and improving the school. SCOHS DOES NOT CARE ABOUT ITS STUDENTS. IT CARES ABOUT MAKING MONEY.

When it came time for clinicals, my teacher (not the same as in class) was phenomenal. while they were very much on their own tune to the world, it was a nice change of place. they helped me learn what it really meant to work in the healthcare, and always encouraged us to ask questions, even if they're small and the answer "obvious". Never a dull moment and the teachers were always willing to stay after class was over to help anyone out.

There is one gate with a manned checkpoint on the gated campus. I indicated where I was going & the friendly gate keeper gave me exact directions. What I had thought was a small university was actually much bigger, thanks in major part to donations & efforts of philanthropist Jane Batten. My visit was to the Batten Student Center, which was bustling with activity in the evening hours that I was there. It was a beautiful, well equipped place where students could gather, participate in indoor sports & have 2nd story meeting room spaces, The private college has grown in prestige & enrollment in recent years, thanks to the efforts of Jane Batten. In 2026 a major change will come, which is welcomed & applauded by all. In addition to the move of the Virginia Museum for Contemporary Arts to the VWU University campus, the name of the universally will be changed to Batten University. The campus is located on Wesleyan Drive very near the I-64 exit for Northampton Boulevard. A turn to the south on Wesleyan Drive will take one past the entrance gate and main campus. Congratulations to the university on its well deserved increased pathway to the future.

Hendricks at Regent. Without going into too much detail have you ever had the feeling that someone just doesn't want to help you. That was exactly the vibe I got. I was trying to assist someone with a relatively minor issue but instead of providing clear guidance I was met with vague responses like We can't help with that or Let me reach out to someone who might be able to assist. Eventually they brought in Mr. Hendricks but unfortunately he was no help either. I couldn't tell if he genuinely didn't know how to assist or simply didn't want to. His suggestion was to have the person in question contact him directly, which we did one min later. The person called multiple times, left messages on both his business line and mobile, and even followed up via email. No response!!! The lack of follow through and willingness to assist was extremely frustrating and left a very poor impression. Please don't advise to be a military friendly school if you are going to treat people like this. Help fix the issue not make it worse or give us a run around, do better!!

I waited to post this review, as I did experience tons of positive interactions with the University…read moreprofessors. My consistent issue was with the Business office each semester. I later was told by university staff (in 2024) that there were only two people working in the business office. The lack of man power accounted for the long or non-existent communication times. However, the business office is not why I am writing this review. As of 02/27/2026, I am 4 credits away from graduating from Regent University. I was originally scheduled to graduate last summer. This is my second master's degree, so I am paying the majority of my tuition out of pocket. Up until February 2025, that was not a problem. I am self-employed, and in February 2025 I had to make two trips back home as my father was diagnosed with cancer and quickly passed away, causing me to miss working half of the month of February. I believe my GPA is around 3.78 and the semester my father passed I still received over a 3.5 GPA. I fell behind on most of my bills due to being off work and having extra travelling expenses on two occasions in less than 30 days. I applied for scholarships and all to no avail. Since I was so close to graduating, I was told by either the financial aid office or the business office to reach out to the head of my department to see if they had any additional departmental funds that could assist with my overdue balance, which was under$1500. I sent an email and heard nothing for a couple of months, after a follow-up email I was told to submit a scholarship application (although the date for the scholarships had passed) so that they could have basic information and demographics to try to find a donor, alumni, or any other scholarship or grant that they could find to assist me. I submitted the application and sent an email informing my contact that it was submitted in August 2025. As of 2/27/2026, I have heard absolutely nothing, and my balance has been submitted to collections. As a student in good standing, who is already working and excelling in the industry in which I was obtaining my degree in, and only 4 credits away; I expected some form of communication, even if it wasn't favorable communication. It saddens me that I got so close to graduating and after asking for assistance (something I don't do personally), I was ignored and treated as a stranger, not a student who never had issues paying my tuition for two consecutive years. This situation has added sadness to an already devastating time. It really is unfortunate added to the frustration of dealing with the understaffed business office during my time as a student. These experiences have left a very sour taste in my mouth for a University I once loved and spoke pretty highly about.

Not only do they educate in history, math, science, English, etc. but they also aide in teaching what is taught in our home as well. The teachers & administration have always been extremely helpful when needed. In a world that wishes to bring our children down versus building them up, thank you PCS for all your hard work & dedication to our children's education & upbringing. SN-In regards to the 1 star review listed I would like to say, I've personally witnessed how hard the school staff works with the upkeep of PCS & have NEVER witnessed any rats, bugs, etc. even during the building/expansion process a few years ago. Also considering the time that review was written, I believe it more than likely was someone not affiliated with the school at all but that is just my personal opinion after being in the school 100's of times myself.
