He came wearing mask and gloves so yay safety! For non business hours the $125 diagnostic fee was reasonable. Business hours price is lower though Easco is available 24/7! Sadly it was a much bigger repair than I anticipated - I'd hoped for capacitor but the compressor had eaten itself. Fortunately because the whole HVAC was replaced in 2016 the part was under warranty. Had to take advantage of their third party financing {thanks Covid 19} which was simple, easy, and has reasonable terms even for less than stellar credit. First tech arrived right on time and started the project while waiting for the second. A third tech arrived who was a trainee and since we homeschool I thought that was fabulous - continuing to make my property an educational center. I called Nicks Pluming and AC initially and they came out Saturday at 2pm to look at my AC…read moreand told me that the capacitor needed to be changed that was 2k but if the unit needed to be changed that would be 6k and that there could be a leak. Pretty much a bunch of BS I called Efficient Polar Air they came out Saturday at 9PM said that the builder when the HVAC person installed the unit they didn't vacuum enough and if anything the expansion valve needed to be changed and vacuum to be done but couldn't confirm anything Nicks Pluming/AC was saying. They fixed the issue for there standard service call and if it keeps reoccuring the expansion valve and vacuum needs to be done. Do yourself a favor and if you have any AC issue call Efficient Polar Air!!! They saved me so much $$$$ by being honest and quick.

Mcgilberry sent someone out within an hour of our call. They determined that there was no saving the system, and also identified some things that weren't up to code that could have led to our ceiling being flooded had an issue developed. They worked with us on identifying the most affordable option for replacing the system, and had the new one installed the next day. They also corrected the code violations and threw in some maintenance work on our downstairs system for no extra charge. The team of HVAC professionals are always courteous and friendly, and are willing to take the time to make sure you understand exactly what's going on. We've used other companies in the past, but will be sticking with Mcgilberry from now on. They're the best!
