I am writing this review years later because this experience still bothers me so much and I…read moreremember it like it was yesterday. I had an appointment to get an IUD implanted with Smith-Salone. First thing is first, they take me into a dark room in the back and they asked me to change. I took my shoes off, because this is a necessary step when taking your pants off. I come out without shoes/pants on and the nurse says 'EW! Go back and put your shoes on, I don't do feet!' I should have left in this moment, but I didn't. I followed her instructions. I went and put my pumps back on and I'm laying there awkward as can be with no pants but my shoes on. So then Smith-Salone comes in. The room is almost pitch black. She tries for several minutes to put this IUD in. Note: If you've never had this done, it is quite painful. This being my first one, I didn't know that there is something they put up first to open up your cervix (this is the painful part) and then once it's open, the IUD placement is fairly pain-free. She skipped the first step. After not being able to get the IUD in, she told me it wasn't possible for me to have an IUD because get this - she tells me I have 2 uterus'. She told me that I would need to get an MRI and that I might never be able to have children. So I go spend $3,000 on a MRI. I switch doctors because I would NEVER go back there again and the new doctor was horrified. There is absolutely nothing wrong with me. I had another doctor implant the IUD in under a minute. I am still mortified from this situation and I would never recommend this terrible doctor/staff to anyone. It's worth the drive to Columbus, trust me ladies!
