Snacks, candies, homemade ice cream, chocolate covered pecan brittle, and even locally grown frozen beef / steaks can be found here. This store was well stocked with just about something for everyone that enjoys eating :). - State Line Fireworks was the last of the 3 buildings and I never went into that one so I can't really comment on it. Besides, the 3 businesses, the owner, Ricky Herring (spelling?), explained he was a 15 year employee of the local County Sheriff's Department and that he was wanting to build a place that was family friendly with no alcohol allowed. His plans include future old antique / classic car shows, and other family oriented activities. This place is literally located at the Florida - Alabama State Line. Driving southbound, it's on your right - the west side of the road. I found it to be a great place to stop, shop, and talk with the friendly employees. This store specifically grabbed our rifle out of the deliveries and processed it while we were standing there. That's a huge inconvenience for them but they did it with a smile. We were leaving town as soon as we picked it up and we're thrilled not to have to wait another day or two. Plus, the selection of firearms, sporting goods, ammo and magazines is far beyond anything in the area. You'd think this huge store was in a big city. Not a blue city mind you. lol. I have been a customer of Pinch A Penny for approximately six years, and after what happened this…read morepast week--and especially how it was handled--I am extremely disappointed. Last week, a pool technician named Alonzo serviced my pool while I was away from home. When I returned a few hours later, I discovered that my pool had drained by approximately one-third and was STILL draining. I immediately called Pinch A Penny because I was alarmed and had no idea what the technician had done or how to stop it. Instead of treating this like an urgent problem caused during their service visit, I was initially told that the technician had already left for the day. I kept asking what I could do to stop my pool from continuing to drain. Eventually, after I persisted, I was able to get in touch with the technician and was told to turn off the power. Thankfully, that stopped the draining. The next day, someone from quality control came to my home to investigate. I was told that the technician had made a mistake, and I was left with the impression that I probably would not be seeing that technician again. I was also told that Pinch A Penny would reimburse me for the additional water expense. It took approximately FOUR DAYS to refill my pool. I essentially lost the use of my pool for a week because of a mistake made during a service I PAY FOR. Exactly one week later, the SAME technician showed up at my house again. I called because I understandably wanted to know what was going on. The technician himself seems like a nice person, but after someone accidentally drains a significant portion of your pool, it is reasonable to question whether you are comfortable having that person continue servicing your equipment. That's when I spoke with Taylor. I've dealt with Taylor periodically during the approximately six years I've been a customer, and I have never complained publicly about my interactions with her before. However, today's conversation was the last straw. During the conversation, I was essentially told that this type of mistake happens and is almost like an "initiation" for newer pool technicians--that apparently accidentally draining pools happens. I found that response incredibly dismissive. Whether this happens occasionally or not isn't the point. It happened to MY pool. I lost the use of my pool for days, had to refill a substantial amount of water, and had every reason to be concerned about whether additional damage could have occurred. What I wanted was accountability and reassurance. Instead, I felt talked over and dismissed. I became frustrated and, yes, I used profanity during the conversation but I did not directly call her any names. I own that. But after I expressed my frustration, Taylor informed me that I was no longer going to be a customer, removed me from their service, and hung up on me. After SIX YEARS as a paying customer. Apparently, rather than addressing a longtime customer's legitimate concerns about a serious service mistake, it was easier to simply get rid of the customer. That's what bothers me most about this entire experience. Mistakes happen. Employees make mistakes. What separates a good company from a bad experience is HOW THE COMPANY RESPONDS when something goes wrong. My pool being accidentally drained was frustrating. The lack of help when I initially called while it was actively draining was worse. But being treated as though I was unreasonable for being upset about it--and then abruptly dropped as a six-year customer--was unacceptable. I expect Pinch A Penny to honor its commitment to reimburse me for the additional water required to refill my pool. I also believe I should be refunded for the week of service during which their mistake left my pool unusable. After approximately six years of giving this company my business, I certainly never expected the relationship to end because I had the audacity to complain when their technician accidentally drained a third of my pool. Very disappointing way to treat a longtime customer.
