We researched many photographers in the area before selecting D'Ann. I've worked with D'Ann for both personal and professional photo sessions. From our first meeting, she took the time to explore our wishes, encouraging my daughter to create a Pinterest board to share what she wanted from her senior pictures. She worked with us to review color palettes for family photos and discuss location options. D'Ann goes the extra mile as she kindly collaborated via text on shopping trips to select outfits and coloring that accentuated features. She creatively brought in ideas to expand upon ours through out the process and as a surprise during the session, one time showing up with gold colored, glass glitter. We didn't intend to use a makeup professional or ever think to add eyelash extensions, yet after explaining the difference it made and the way Smitten & Swoon had built it into some of her products (as well as having her assistant come to the studio prior to the shoot) we decided to try it. It made an incredible difference. To see the light in my daughter's eyes as she smiled, saying she felt beautiful was another gift of the experience of working with D'Ann. Going forward, we continued with her suggestions like the addition of a flower wreath with one of the dresses we'd selected, very affordable and easy to order. For my business shoot, D'Ann also handles very broad suggestions for the photo shoot with the same professionalism and creativity. Knowing D'Ann's work, I shared my interest in use of light, my hands and heart to express who I am and my healing work. The shots she took were so beyond my expectations of extraordinary. She was also well versed in the diversity of shots I wanted not only for my website but for book covers and business cards. D'Ann exceeded my expectations once again. It's a delightful, fun experience from start to finish. D'Ann not only captured the unique personalities of each member of our family as well as my healing work, our pictures are filled with such unique emotion! Even my son who doesn't enjoy having his picture taken enjoys these sessions. We selected pictures for products and D'Ann's design team put together extraordinary books and invitations which they allowed time for us to edit, including adding inspirational quotes and leather binding to match our home decor. I have nothing but great things to say about D'Ann! Not only did D'Ann provide such high quality photos, she did an amazing job at giving us the experience we did not expect AT ALL! She was SO accommodating from the moment we signed up to the time we picked up all of our items. Having a 1 year old and 3 years old, my partner & I were so nervous to take pictures. We have never had family photos done where both kids were not crying or screaming...nor did we get at least 3 good family photos where both babies looked at the camera in less than 1 hour. D'Ann was so talented she was able to grasp the babies attention/make them smile all while capturing MULTIPLE pictures (25+) in less than 30mins that were AMAZING! So happy to have found D'Ann to shoot both my maternity and newborn pics. She made me feel so comfortable and beautiful when I was feeling quite the opposite toward the end of my pregnancy.
