I was ready to sleep in my truck, but decided to check rates at the town's two motels. The first place was way too pricey, over $80 for a single. This place was $58, which I thought was outrageous for what I expected to be a roach motel. So I asked the friendly clerk to see the room and was promptly ashamed of myself for making such an assumption. The 'room' is actually a suite, with two bedrooms, a hall with a large closet, and a bathroom. There are a full size fridge, microwave, a proper desk, and a computer chair. The suite has been fully renovated except for the entrance door -- new carpet, newly painted, new beds (very comfy!), completely redone bathroom, etc. I've spent a lot of times in budget motels in the last eight months and this is by far the nicest room I've been. A family would find this place to be a bargain (although I imagine the rate is higher for more people). There is a restaurant almost right next door that is open late on Sunday nights where I got a decent steak. Great stop and glad to know I have this option if I ever come through again after the border has shut for the night.

The whole place was extremely clean and comfortable. We were thankful for the Cottonwood after a long day of driving! We also were glad we didn't have to go somewhere for dinner.
