The next time he's in from Hawaii maybe we'll have to meet up here just for kicks :) The patchouli smell and perusing the carefully selected goods placed in this tiny shop across from Roosevelt Mall would be so nostalgic! This review is probably useless to those who vape or use e-cigarettes as I know nothing about that and am strictly writing this for selfish reasons. Anyway, I used to come here for patches, tie dyes, all things Dead and Nag Champa. Ok, and maybe a few other pretty glass items way back when. This was THE hot spot back in the day and and I'm glad to see it remains so even as the neighborhood has changed. If I still purchased these items I would absolutely make the trip up here and recommend if you need anything similar, you do so too! The prices were always fair and the quality, excellent. There's no other place to go, really. I promise. So glad to see Mindy and Larry still work here decades later. They were always the sweetest! Guy asked me my age when I tried to buy my first bong (these days it's okay to use that term), and I lied because I was underage. Then he asks my birthdate, and I get the year wrong. He's good at math and realizes I'm lying. DENIED! Had to have my mother go in for me and buy the bong. After that first experience, I never liked the place. It was easier to buy weed (another term that's fine to use nowadays) than it was to buy from there. Also, like many other people noticed, they were expensive. With the environment around marijuana these days and remembering my experiences there, their policies and attitudes seem even stupider. But I do understand why they had to be that way after reading the news article about their closing and the busts. For me, it was a place to avoid if possible. Good riddance!
