First time trying Smoothie King. Service was poor. The workers are not helpful. I wasn't allowed to add an enhancer to an açaí bowl. When the bowl was ready it was just placed on the counter. It wasn't announced or described. Just left on the counter leaving you to guess if it was possibly yours. They also forgot to add the goji berries. read more

Smoothie King.... Gotta admit, I kinda like this place. I say that of course having never really been a smoothie or health food kinda person. This location is in the food court of the ft bliss PX it freedom crossing. Right next to the healthy pizza company... Conveniently. I haven't tried/explored the full menu but I've become a fan of the shredder and the slim-n-trim. For the shredder I go chocolate and slim I go orange vanilla. Both taste great. They are labeled as "meal replacements", which is legit for some, but I'm not in a physical category to where I need to replace my meals with a smoothie.... Yet lol. So I'll get it as a snack or pair it with a pizza from healthy pizza company next door. The menu is huge with lots to choose from. They also have damn near every supplement you can want from protein to weight loss powders, multi vitamins to probiotics. Feel free to add some in based of your wants and needs, however, read the ingredients first. For example, the shredder already has the supplement "diet down" in it... So no need to add more. Many fresh fruits on hand to be blended up or paired with yogurts, milks and good old crushed ice. Not the cheapest place, although not terribly expensive. It's just, when I envision how much a smoothie should cost (based off its simplicity) these are a bit higher than I'd like. Then again, it's convenience, right? Ahh, Smoothie King. Looking for something refreshingly cool during the summer heat in EP, I thought SK would be a good choice since everything else at Freedom Crossing seems to be chocked full of unnecessary pounds of sugars. I don't know what kind of smoothie place I was actually expecting, but much to my surprise SK is very health focused. I'm not going to lie, I'm not a fan of the menu... not to say I don't like what's on the menu, I just don't like the set up. It's great for someone looking to lose weight or put on some muscle, but I'm just there for something that taste good, that has the fruits I'm craving, and that doesn't taste like straight sugar. It was just a little hard to navigate since there were so many options. It took some getting used to, but I think next time I'll be able to pick out what I want much more quickly. I can't even quite remember what exactly I ordered, but I thought it was good. I remember thinking that it tasted like it was made from real fruits and not just some artificial flavors mixed into ice and yogurt like a milky snow cone. Good stuff. I also saw that they offer some supplements. GNC is right around the corner so I don't know how many people are stopping here for supplements and protein powders, but they have it. Located inside the PX food court on base is Smoothie King, competing with everything from Starbucks to Einstein, Subway, BBQ etc. So why pass up real food for a smoothie you ask? Simply by me telling you Skinny Pineapple Surf...enough said as he drops the mic'. Seriously this damn drink tastes so dang good. So you ask why only four stars? That is simple too: I don't like having to spend 5 min walking from the parking lot to Smoothie King and back. So just grabbing a smoothie to go can easily take 20 min. Wish there was a drive-thru. The fabulous Lurine (yes she's awesome she's my girl :) has taught me a thing or two and she calls her order ahead which I did today, though they said they don't do that...guess you guys are doing it now :) Time is valuable. Though it says "skinny" don't let it fool you these things are sugar infested calorie bombs. So it gets a big negative because it is marketed as healthy but it is definitely not. It says it closes at 9 o'clock but they were closing at 8:30pm without any clear explanation and workers are not friendly. They told me with different promotions but when I received the promotion, they did not even know how the promotion worked. That day, I stood at the counter for 30 minutes.
