It was fun to watch how socca is made and, as someone who has never tried it, I really liked it (not something I would crave immediately again but it's a good option for gluten free street food). Seems like there is always a line outside (which is an indicator for delicious and cheap food). It's more of a to go place so make sure it's packaged well as socca is pretty greasy and can create a huge mess. Overall, I would definitely go there again if I am in Nice.

We got a chance to see how they make their socca, which is apparently just the same flour used for couscous, mixed with water, then placed an big, round, metal baking dish lined with olive oil, and then oven roasted for 3-5 minutes. Once done, it's just lightly seasoned with pepper - our guide said no other spice, otherwise it's not authentic in terms of local custom. I wasn't the biggest fan of the socca, though it wasn't bad, and their pizzas on offer all looked amazing - there's a reason they had the long line that they had. Next time in old town Nice, I'd give them a try!

Got some bread, rice, veggies, chips, cheese, wine, meat cuts and a good load of fish and seafood. The shrimps and the crab we bought were delicous. Very tasty and fresh. The local wine we bought was of great value. Costs just under 10 Euros and tastes like it costs at least double that. Prices are pretty low, staff was friendly and the selection of groceries huge. A great supermarket. Loved shopping here.

We walked down and ordered a whole chicken and also grab their eggplant bell pepper entree to go. Brought it back to our Airbnb and had a fantastic dinner on the patio. The chicken was cooked to perfection. It was nice and juicy and soooo flavorful. Wow! The eggplant entree was a good side. Kids gobbled down the shocker with a piece of their baguette . It's even better than California chicken cafe!

The store is clean and chic. They don't take Amex. All the salads are super fresh and good. We had their salmon salad, shrimp salad and smoked meat salad. They add lemon dress or balsamic dressing at the end, when you buy them. We also try the fried zucchini flower, it was so light and crunchy. Their potato with cheese on top, and different kinds of fish are very tasty and fresh as well. The gentleman in the store was nice and sweet and gave us more food for free.

We went to Monoprix the next day and discovered the prices were cheaper and the selection was better at Monoprix. From a tourist POV, Monoprix is much better.
