But no, two very commonly used machines have been "out of order" for months. Don't bother coming around 5pm. It's very crowded and you never get to use the equipment you intended. The sanitary wipes are often empty when I need to wipe down equipment and the floors are usually pretty dirty. I wish I would have gone to the other gym in town as they are cheaper and have more to offer.

That still means they could of stopped charging us this whole time.This is my honest review and opinion of the anytime fitness in brookings. First i shall start with my initial reaction of the place then go into deeper explinations of specific things later on. The equipment is very run of the mill typical treadmills, elliptical, free weights, nothing that gives them a competitive edge over any other gym. I will add that the time ive been there i have never seen any machines get updated. They say they fix the equipment ASAP but there is still stuff broken in there from when i first went to this gym over 3 years ago. They do not have enough bathrooms. i have had to wait several times to change or use the bathroom becuase they are all being used i have also never once seen this place get cleaned by a janitor or anyone at that matter, cleaning whip containers are often empty. I usually work out around 5-7 and anyone that says this place has plenty of room is lying through there teeth, they use the studio for classes as well as the turf for classes so there is no room to do anything but free weights which is usually packed, cable machines or cardio machines. Now about the classes they are run of the mill about an hour long not to bad of a workout trainers push you and are attentive the only problem with them is once again the lack of space the class can be up to 10 people on the tiny turf, but alot of the trainers are very nice and want to see you succeed but theres one that is nothing but a salesman and wants nothing but you to join classes you will be pressured and made uncomfortable by that specific trainer, it must be commission bases! They preach family but after how they reacted to the COVID-19 out break your nothing but dollar signs to this gym. I would recommend a different gym in town. It is conveniently located right next to hyvee. But i hope they expand into the empty room behind the back wall to make more room for us to work out like they could of already done but chose not to. This is not slander it is my personal opinion take it how you want.

We left after that happened because she clearly didn't care about children swimming and their safety. I'm appalled the City of Brookings doesn't care about children and their safety.

I came this past weekend and the weather was just right, light sunshine with a light breeze. I can't speak for how this park is in the winter, but based on some of the billboards around the park, snow shoeing is a possibility! Lots of nice, paved trails throughout the premise. Unique animals can be seen in the water as well as on land. I didn't see any creatures this time around, but I don't doubt that they're there. Many families were on a scavenger hunts, great idea for an activity! I believe that during the summer, boats are available for rent to ride around the lakes. Lots of poop stations available for your pup's doo doo. Overall, I had a great time at this nature park. Ample parking available in the lots at the various entrances.

This park…read moreallows camping with 18 paved pads for trailers and RVs, five of which are pull-through and the remainder are back-in. The pads are only $25 plus tax, which is a complete bargain. The campground is operated by the city of Brookings and is the only park in the city that allows camping. They have electrical hook-ups, picnic tables, a playground, restrooms with showers and even a dump station. Very awesome and I enjoyed having a nice walk around today.
