I attended this gym in the pandemic months, I only attended for approximately 6 weeks, during those…read more6 weeks I went 12 times, they billed me every 2 weeks, at that time the MO. mandate stated that everyone must wear a mask, they even had it on the door, which I began to film each time I went in due to people all doing the same thing~ walking through the door with the mask on & then taking it off once they we're through the foyer. There we're rarely people working there. A couple of the clients told me that you don't have to wear a mask inside of the gym, you just have to wear it in through the door, so the next time I saw the person that worked there I asked her if this in fact was true... She said yes, & that's when she notified me that the owner was a nurse & since no one was steady working there the owner said no one had to wear a mask while working out, just in case someone collapsed running with a mask on, & them not being able to breath adequately through the masks she knew there would not be anyone there to call for help. So the only reason they were to wear the mask from the car inside the door was in case the State was monitoring whether or not people were following the mask as mandated by the State of Missouri at that time since they couldn't come in because they didn't have a key fob. That's how they were allowing people to come in to the gym in fact looking like they were wearing mask but in fact taking them off as soon as they came in, needless to say I called left several messages & emailed them, along with wrote a letter and left my key fob inside the door in March of 2021, yet they continued to bill me every two weeks for six weeks after that. They finally stopped billing me, but I never received my 6 weeks worth of payments they continued to take. Today 8/11/2022 I received notification from Transunion that they reported me for $550 to a collection agency. I haven't heard from these people I mean not a word since 3/2021, I never received my six weeks worth of overcharge fees back either. So now a year & almost 6 months later they send me to a collection agency for $550........ WOW!!! I'm assuming that the business isn't doing well , as this should be criminal no matter how desperate a business is. I noticed that there are several new complaints with the Better Business Bureau within the last three months for this location. Thank the good Lord I had the foresight to know to record what I was seeing, & kept copies of everything that I've stated here, including recordings that I made to the office as I was trying to cancel and make sure that they knew I left my key fob there, & they knew why because they weren't following the mask mandate, they were putting peoples health at risk, & now looking back not only that, as if not following State guidelines during a pandemic wasn't bad enough...... Now after over a year and a half out of the blue, sending me to collections trying to ruin someone's credit over frivolous charges, when in fact they owed me a refund is absolutely sickening. Thank the good Lord I kept my documentation. i'll be extremely surprised if this comment stays up for long, anyone reading this I would think twice before joining this gym or even trying it out.

However, I was told when I joined, just over 2 years ago, that there would be updates, with the exception of everything working and wifi, no updates. Then we had the personal training fiasco. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR PERSONAL TRAINING!!! My daughter was on my contract and was told she could pay out of her pocket for training, then I get a horrendous charge along with my monthly fee. She is told it won't happen again, next month same as the last. "Oh, you didn't sign a cancellation." Next month same as the last. Every time that I called I was passed on and when a manager was to call me I instead get a front desk person that hung up on me. THEY DO NOT GIVE YOU COPIES OF ANYTHING YOU SIGN. With that I have no Idea what she signed and probably never will. Side note, part of this fiasco, my daughter quit going to personal training during the first month of this because her personal trainer quit. His reason was that they were not paying him properly. Every time I've gone to the gym in the last two years my son has gotten sick and been bed ridden the whole rest of the week. I've had to bring him to the hospital multiple times now for treatment for ear infection and respiratory infections. the only time he ever gets sick is when I finally get the chance to go to the gym. I don't think they do a very good job sanitizing the kids play place at all. I turned around and said I was sorry but didn't see her using it and she told me she was supersetting that machine with another and using both machines. I told her that supersetting wasn't allowed because she was tying up 2 machines. She told me I was wrong and who told me that. I told her the club manager told me that and she said he was wrong and did I know who she was. I told her I didn't care who she was, everyone has to go by the same rules. She told me she was a district manager and how I didnt know gym etiquette ect. she ranted about WHO she was and how I was wrong ect. I went over to the counter and got another staff member and told him what was going on and he walked over to talk to her. When it was all said and done she LET me use the cable machine and did her stuff on the other machine, all the while mouthing she didn't have to and how I needed to learn gym etiquette ect... I dont know her name but she is a black woman and told me SHE was a district manager. My wife was there with me thru it all and commented how unprofessional she acted. I sent Genesis a emai two different times and had no reply. Genesis advertises accountability and community and evidently Genesis hold their employees to NO accountability for their actions. She is the ONLY staff person at ANY health club in any of the health clubs I have worked out in the past 50 years to act like that. She has no mentality or temperament to hold the position she has dealing with the public and should be reprimanded, wrote up, re trained or something if Genesis held their employees accountable for their actions.

As large and open as most locations are, I'm sure that there are some locations that have space limitations. The staff were friendly and helpful as usual. I would suggest perhaps having more cleaning stations. The best part of this location is that they have TWO linear leg press machines! Usually there are at least two of every machine with the exception of the linear leg press machines; there is usually one machine but I've also been to a location that didn't have any.

I like the equipment selection, spacing and availability. I also really like the parking - it's close by and you can see the parking lot as you work out, which is helpful for safety. During the 2020 COVID shutdown they stopped auto-billing, and after reopening they were very fair about resuming charges and applying funds plus a bonus. I have a Genesis fitness trainer that I see 2x per week for the past few years, and the trainer has been an excellent coach that helps me push hard while avoiding injury. My one issue with this club is that the flooring always looks terribly dirty. Make sure to use a mat if you are going to do anything on the floor! Otherwise it's the best club

So as an adult, I've always been intimidated by anything having to do with physical activity or gyms, and it's easy to let that intimidation turn into yet another excuse to not exercise. But Susan is an amazing coach. She's not a drill sergeant who wants to berate you into working out. She's nurturing and encouraging while also holding you accountable for what you're doing. I've been working with her for 4 weeks, and the before/after stats are amazing. I didn't lose a lot of weight (this is my fault; I tend to eat like a lazy college student) but I lost inches from all over (even my neck! I didn't realize someone could lose a half inch from a neck!). I can do nearly double the number of pushups I could do at first, and 6 TIMES the number of situps. My work with her includes workout plans tailored to who I am and what I'm capable of (including offering scaled-down exercises to suit my fitness level), while pushing me to improve. And it's an awesome blend of core work, weight training, and endurance. My body and soul are enriched by working with Susan, and you should give her the opportunity to do the same for you!
