Then, after waiting around awhile they asked if I could come back, citing something about a big printing project in process. For me it wasn't a major deal -- I swung back by whilst out picking up lunch -- but it might have been if one is truly in need of snappy service. Passport photos always seem overpriced to me so at £7.99 for four, Snappy Snaps seems around market rate.

Whilst waiting for my photos to be printed, I also observed other customers interacting with staff members and was very impressed by the professionalism and standard of service shown to every customer. I was surprised that the passport photos were so reasonably priced, for such a personalised service, and in the West End too. I also didn't know there was such a range of products that could be photo-printed, so I will definitely be checking these out. All in all, an excellent customer experience.

It's increasingly difficult to find places which take passport photos but the Snappy Snap shops still offer this service. They also open early, which is useful if you work and want to pop in before work. The lady who dealt with me was knowledgeable and put my mind at rest with her confidence with knowing the requirements for the visa photo. She also took a few snaps to get a good shot. It cost me £25 for 2 physical prints and a CD with the precious digital image to upload. He has a great team, all very knowledgeable about anything you need to know. I've used Snappy Snaps for quick turnaround posters I needed for an event in Mayfair. They are very talented in image correction, great for making the most of valuable images which may be damaged or corrupted. I know this sounds crazy, but it's a very clean shop. That matters to me. After a refurbishment a few years ago, (a car smashed into and destroyed the front) they have created a wonderful work/display area downstairs which makes it so much easier to see, touch and discuss what you need. Scott nurtures amateur photographers (I can personally contest to this as he hired a friend of mine, who is now a photographer in her own right). In summary, aside from the utterly charming shopfront, you will be guaranteed a warm welcome and a one stop shop for all your photography/printing needs. I needed to get my passport renewed and as per my usual last minute style, I remembered exactly 6…read moreweeks before I'm next travelling (which is how long they say it will take eek). Despite having a particularly lazy day appearance-wise (of all the days to wear zero make up and not wash my hair!) I had no choice but to get some photos taken. Being painted bright yellow on the outside, this place had stuck in my head when walking past. I wandered in and asked one of the three staff members if they took passport pics. She asked me to follow her downstairs where they have a plain coloured background and lighting set up to take them straight away. It took me ages to take all my layers off from the cold outside; I found myself automatically making small talk to fill the silence, but the woman holding the camera clearly wasn't a fan. It was actually a little disconcerting how silent she was. By this time I was too embarrassed to ask to check my hair (so my own fault there's a little tuft sticking out of the side of my ponytail in the pics). I was also was smiling far too much in an attempt to cover my awkwardness, which you're not supposed to do in passport photos, meaning we had to take three. By the third one I actually had to think of something really dark (like, even worse than Mufasa dying) to keep a straight face. Back upstairs we went and the unsmiling but extremely efficient lady printed my mug shots from one of the machines. She then stamped each of them out at the correct size using a handy pre-sized rectangular cutter and charged me £10 for 6. In total I couldn't have been there more than 10 minutes which seemed amazingly snappy service to me, and the part that took the longest was me taking off and on my coat/scarf/mittens. You probably don't have that default nervous smile issue like I do either so would be even quicker. My only suggestion is to give us the option of paying for 2 photos rather than making you print 6. It's bad enough that one of them will stay with me for the next ten years every time I travel, but nobody needs to see the other 4 so they're a bit of a waste. Still, I'm very grateful to this place for making an annoying last min task almost too easy to be true - now let's just hope the passport arrives in time!
