He is also a corgi mix and the groomer recommended not to cut too short because he has a double coat which helps him for the winter. We went with what the groomer recommended. They also shaped his butt like two peaches... soooo cute. My dogs upkeep is not that bad so I am doing the trimming now.

On our way home from Dapper Dog for a groom, I noticed Tail Blazers and decided to check it out in hopes I could find our dog food brand. I like that I was able to bring my dog in with me (I'm sure she appreciates being included in my love of shopping lol) Although the store is a bit small, the displays for food, toys and accessories weren't overcrowding at all. The cashier was quick to come over and greet me and my dog, and asked if I needed any help. She apologized that they didn't have the brand I was asking about in stock (due to the aforementioned factory oven fire) but she pulled out a bunch of food she recommended and said I could have the sample bags for FREE! YAYYYYY!!! I paid for the chew sticks and treats my dog was sneaking out of baskets while I was chatting away, and thanked the cashier for her help. The food she recommended transitioned great for my dog! Once we run low on it and my usual brand hasn't been replenished at my neighborhood pet store, I'm gonna head back to Tail Blazers!

This…read morepast weekend, Tail Blazers was having Santa photos for pets- $15, with half of the proceeds going towards the Calgary Humane Society. Now, last season I purchased my dog Benson an adorable Christmas sweater, and figured this would be a perfect opportunity for him to show it off. I made an appointment with the friendly staff to bring him in. When we arrived, there were quite a few other dogs roaming around. Tail Blazers is awesome and allows customers to bring their companion animals inside with them. Benson is a little spooked of others dogs, so I walked around and perused the aisles with a 20 pound little furball in my arms. The ladies working at Tail Blazers were super friendly and I can tell they are all genuine animal lovers. They offered Benson several treats, and gave me a big goodie bag for him, which were given to all the animals in getting Santa photos. Forgive me as I really only looked in detail at the dog stuff, but Tail Blazers has a great selection of products. They have food for nearly every kind of pet diet including raw, many great brands. I also noticed many products such as vitamins and natural remedies for animals. There are tons of treats available, including one of my new favourite brands Wet Noses, which have a line of treats with simple, vegan friendly ingredients. I brought Benson home some mint carob treats which have really freshened up his awful breath. There are also lots of really cute little seasonal things right now- festive leashes and collars, little packages of treats, toys, etc. I would recommend this little shop. Really disappointed in Atomic Dog and their customer service. I called to ask a simple question…read moreabout why our regular charge was increased and not communicated to us, and also to give some basic feedback on the last groom my dog had. Not only did the receptionist speak down to me in a really condescending way but she called a few hours later after I had already rebooked my next appointment and said we were no longer welcome back as a client. I asked to speak to the owner because I am honestly shocked, I was super polite during our conversation and as a person who gets my dog groomed every 6 weeks consistently wanted to ask some simple questions and make sure we were on the same page. It took a number of phone calls and me actually going into the shop to speak to the owner. They have definitely lost us as a customer but wanted to forewarn others.

We've been VERY pleased with the results. It sometimes varies as groomers there change, but we've never been dissatisfied, and if there's anything we don't like about it they're always happy to have us bring her back to fix it up. It helps that our dog is very good and calm when being groomed, making their job a lot easier. We also find that Jill often has very helpful and sound advice when it comes to dealing with issues you might have with your dog. She's got a lot of experience with dogs, having owned them for years, and is very practical when it comes to training advice.
