Went here today on a field trip with my students and had a blast! The weather was on the warmer side which was great and we were the only group there. The staff was great with the kids and my students had a blast. They have a number of runs to use and plentynof staff to ensure safety of the participants. They show a safety video and debrief expectations before tubing begins. In addition to vending machines they also have an alehouse on top to order food and drink. The food is on the expensive side and they only sell combos (ex: burger with fries grilled cheese with soup). Students and staff definitely had a good time and would definitely go visit again. read more

We had a good time at snow riders on a Saturday. Getting reservations was easy online, we had a 1.5hour snow tubing slot and another 1.5hr fire pit rental. The slopes move pretty fast and it's a great time for all ages. We roasted marshmallows and had a picnic by the fire pit as the sun went down making it a great date Our only issue was we checked in for our fire pit at 4 and the maintenance team didn't get it lit until 4:25 (and that's after we called back). read more

We had some friends come in to town from Maryland to go snow tubing. We did go at peak time on a Saturday (1:30). Everyone had a great time. It was quite busy which makes turnaround time a little slow. If I would change anything it would be the putt putt grass carpet being so slippery as you are walking down to get back on the magic carpet. The other thing was we showed up half hour early as instructed so we could get our full 90 minutes. However, the safety video process is slow as they want you to sign your name again even after already signing a waiver. This process made us 10 minutes late getting tubes. read more

Super fun and looks like they take safety seriously. They are organized, with parking attendant ushering people to the right area. Checkin has multiple stations and they have a small restaurant, a gift store and areas to purchase drinks and food. They also have fire pits which was absolutely great for the really cold night of disco tubing. That said, its really expensive, the food is low quality (absolutely awful tbh) and over priced (think worse than a sports stadium or movie theatre). Recommend bringing your own thermos and basket of food, rent a pit, and have a ball. The staff is friendly, and attentive. Note that the magic carpet is slow, and so between the trip up, waiting in line to come down, coming down, and getting back on the carpet, its about 7-10min round trip. That gives you an idea of how many times you can go down the hill in 1.5hrs. Only gave a 4 because the food was really that awful. At a great venue like this, they'd benefit from getting better food, snacks, etc. read more

Fun? YES. Closer to my house than other options? YES. But, otherwise it's not really better or worse than the next closest options like Ski Liberty or Massanutten - and they are both cheaper. Their tix are $10 cheaper on weekends, plus @Snow Riders there are another $10 of fees on top of their already more expensive ticket. All in, it was $70 for 90 minutes of riding! Way pricey. Will I go again? Maybe, but I probably would be cheap and not choose a weekend. Wednesdays look like a great deal. That's when I'd try to go, or if I could find a groupon or something. read more

Excellent place for families with kids. The restaurant is pretty good too. Nothing spectacular stands out, but good overall.

Fun time with the kids but a few things that could be improved upon: 1. The walkway down to the slopes is dark and not lit at night. Use caution. 2. Ice melt along the path from the bottom of the slope to the magic carpet would be great. It got quite icy and treacherous but we signed liability waivers sooo... 3. The employees working at the top of the slopes could be more helpful. It gets icy and hard to dig your feet in when getting in the tubes. I also watched a middle age man struggling to get his tube close enough to the edge to go down the slope. He just needed someone to brace the back of his tube and the employees weren't offering to help him even though they were just standing around. He got frustrated and said forget it, then walked off. That was disappointing to see. I also heard kids asking for a small push to get to the edge of the slope - again it's icy and if you get too close too soon, the lane won't be clear - and they also didn't get any response from the employees. 4. The magic carpet is quite time consuming. I understand they want to space out the groups of people so the lanes don't get jammed up however in the 2 hours we were there, we may have tubed 8-9 times. 5. Hot chocolate was $30 for 4 cups without tip. They also ran out of Reddi whip on a weekend. I would go back if I were in the area but wouldn't make a special trip to just go tubing for the evening. Not sure where to start, but to keep my rambling to a minimum I'll simply say this place needs some management and re arrangements. The amount of time spent signing forms, singing video forms, watching useless videos, standing in line for the ramp, waiting up top for every order to make it down , is just not worth the time or your money. I literally went through all that for one trip down the hill. Then said I'm done, let me try their food... Walked into a dark motionless bar/restaurant and was greeted by nobody. Even though Ofcourse the bartender was starting at me looking as if me and my party of five were bothering him. Burgers and fries, ok let's try! I couldn't finish my burger it tasted entirely like cooking oil. My daughter's burger was rare in the middle which I don't mind but definitely should have been communicated! The entire ordering and delivery was very bizarre I had to go to the bar and ask for everything under the sun including forks and napkins, is it that hard to hire a server!? Just a mangled mess in there. The entire place gives me an amateur hour vibe and is not worth the amount of time wasted. The hot chocolate truck looked cute but had ZERO food options ... Imporve your food and beverage program and let people walk right up to the top of the hill after the inappropriate video! Why are we all walking down this bizarre gravel path, to the bottom...you just killed the excitement and wanted more time, let people go down the hill ON THEIR TUBE, just a thought. I just read their description on yelp saying they have 16 snow lanes, HA! Saturday they had three. Never again. read more

Definitely overpriced. Charging over $60 per ticket is an outrageous. The conditions were very icy, and most of our time was spent waiting in line. So we ended up only being able to snow tube 2 times. That means that we ended up spending over $30 for each ride down the hill. The hot chocolate costs $8 and comes out lukewarm. But the kids who served the hot chocolate were very nice, and they obviously don't set the prices. read more

Five Stars -- Absolutely Worth It We visited Snow Riders in Harpers Ferry with my nieces and nephew, and we had an amazing time. At first glance, it can feel a little overwhelming -- the parking lot, the check-in area, and the line going up the "magic carpet" definitely look busy. But once you get to the top, it's a totally different experience. It's not as crowded as it seems, and everything is extremely well organized. What truly stood out was the staff. Every single employee was friendly, attentive, and genuinely invested in making sure everyone had a great time. I honestly can't remember the last time I experienced customer service like this -- especially these days. And I know how that might sound, but seeing this level of care and professionalism from this generation of workers was truly impressive. From the moment we checked in at the lodge to our time tubing, there was never a point where I didn't feel welcomed or cared for. It felt like the staff truly wanted us to enjoy ourselves, and that made all the difference. Yes, it's pricey -- but it's pricey because it's worth it. 100% worth it. Five stars, no hesitation. Place is fun, family had a great time. The only thing is the full round trip from top of the slide, down the slide and back up to the top is 15 minutes... which is about as fast as you can go. We didn't have to wait in a line. You only get about 7 rounds before your time is up if you go non-stop, which equates to $10 per slide, per person. When I ordered the tickets online, it said that I had to fill out a waiver for all 9 people in my party. As I read more into the website, it said that if I was doing the holiday lights there was no need for the waiver. Upon my arrival I was told that we had to fill out the waiver. I didn't think that going through all of that for the amount of time it took to go through was worth the price of admission. This place is awesome, and I highly recommend it! I took my 6 yr old twins and my 11 yr old, and everyone had a GREAT time. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would recommend showing up about 30 minutes before your session to get parking, complete your waivers online beforehand, and watch the short safety video. It was busy at check-in. We did the 8 p.m. Disco session on Saturday, and the lines moved very quickly. I've been tubing at several places before, and my only minor complaints, which weren't a big deal are that the hill belt is a bit slow and the music doesn't play as loud as it does at other locations. read more

Would recommend for any age! Took my 4 year old and we tandem tubed due to the height requirements. He is 42 inches tall. 36-42 inches tall must be with an adult the entire time. We had a great time! Definitely going back again. read more

Our family of ten thoroughly enjoyed our 2nd annual Snow Riders snow tubing adventure last night! My four grand-girls (ages 7-11) and our adult children had so much fun! The Downhill Disco Night Time Snow Tubing is excellent, but I'm sure going during the daytime is a blast too! My grand-girls wore their Christmas LED beanie hats, and it was so easy to spot them going down the hill and back up the conveyor to the top. If anyone in your party isn't snow tubing (that would be me ;) renting a fire pit is an excellent option (maximum of ten people). This year I started earlier than their start time and rented two slots back to back. The fire pit staff do an excellent job setting up the fire and you can also purchase additional firewood on site if you want a roaring fire the entire time. After my family finished their 90-minute snow tubing time slot we all enjoyed s'mores and hot cocoa at the fire pit. They sell s'more kits and hot cocoa on site or you can bring your own (they do limit what refreshments you can bring so check first). Great family activity... not inexpensive for large parties but absolutely priceless family fun in my opinion. Everyone is already looking forward to next year's family adventure!! read more

It wasn't cheap but we had a fun night. The lights and music were a good follow up to an awesome sunset view. We had 9 people and even tho my sister temporarily lost her phone one of the staff, Brooke Winters, made sure it was found and then found us to get it back. That saved our night for sure. The tubing was fast and fun. We caught a little air and were allowed to go tandem or backwards as long as we were face up. We probably got 10-12 rides in 90 mins with the belt ride up going slowly but it was safe and fun and a great time. read more

We went to Snow Riders yesterday, and we had a great experience all around. It was a group of 9 adults and kids, and we got there at 3:30 to eat at Alstadts Alehouse; the inside was small, but we got two tables and ordered through the QR code menu, and everything came to our table fast and with friendly staff members. We had a great meal, hot and delicious. We went down the hill at 6:30, and what a thrill!!! So much fun family time. Every staff member was friendly and helpful. In the end, we finished with hot chocolate, which was the cherry on top of the whole experience. I 100% Recommend this place. read more

I was pretty disappointed with staff upon check-in. Despite the number of them behind the counter, it seemed to take exceptionally long due to their snacking and socializing. I felt like I was more interrupting a social engagement than visiting a business. Signing waivers lacked efficiency and was frustrating. If there's a large party (particularly a family with minor children), entering the same address over and over seems silly. All the hassle wasn't really worth the price tag. Reservations were for Sunday and I called on Friday. they told me to get a refund I would have needed to purchase insurance at the time of booking. It was $163 dollars in the first place!!!!!!! Staff is friendly. Check in takes a bit so get there early! Conveyor belt system is great for not having to climb the hill each time! Link up with a buddy to go super fast down the hill otherwise you don't very fast which is my only real drawback and the reason for 4 stars. It's great for kids. We went Wednesday for the hump day deal of 5-9 for the same price as any other day would cost for only an hour and a half. If you rent a firepit get to it on time bc you will lose your slot. We had a great time and if we lived closer I'd get the season pass. It's a great way to have fun in the winter. Well they tried. The snow machine was on during our tubing experience and it felt like we were being pelted in the face with tiny little icicles. We couldn't open our eyes going down the slides, so we couldn't enjoy the lights as we scooted down the hill. We left after 45 minutes. If the hills were steep and exciting, all of this could be overlooked, but the hills were TINY. For the price and the really insignificant size of the hills, it was very much NOT worth it. read more

WOW!! My Daughter had her 7th Birthday at Snow Riders and it was an absolute blast! We chose the Polar Bear package which included everything needed plus more. The hot chocolate bar was a major hit and was simply delicious! I heard multiple comments from our guests on how good the pizza was as well. The snow tubing was AMAZING and was a whopping 1.5 hours long which was plenty of time. By the end we had a bunch of really tired and happy kids :). We worked with Danielle to organize the party. Danielle was friendly, organized, professional and a pleasure to work with! On the day of the party she answered multiple of our guests questions and did a fabulous job keeping everything on schedule. She even accommodated us for an impromptu tour of Snow Riders before we made our decision on where to have our daughters Birthday Party. We are so happy we stumbled upon Snow Riders, we didn't know this place existed until recently but we will definitely be going back. Had a great experience here and hope to return again this season! I would recommend wearing multiple layers of socks, a solid face covering, some good gloves, and really anything else to withstand the cold. The experience was wonderful, exciting, and spontaneous. Our party had a wonderful time! We've been snow tubing for about 6 years now, exploring different places in and around Virginia. Snow Riders has one of the best maintained slopes that we've found. The lanes are well covered in good snow with very safe, high lane separations. The moving lift is in great condition and I can't say enough about the helpfulness and attentiveness of the staff. I'm 72 and had spine surgery 6 months ago and another of our party has knee problems. The staff really took care of our special needs with kindness and good cheer, especially Christian and Mike.
