I bought it when I was 25, but 8 years later I was divorcing my husband who had been abusing me, and who was convicted of stalking me. Larry Martin was recommended to me by my church at the time- a church that promoted women being submissive to men. Larry acted so judgmental and pompous. He would roll his eyes, cross his arms, and sigh during interactions with me. He would hold his chin up high and look around the room avoiding eye contact or even looking in my direction. He always seemed busy. He acted like I was taking up his time, like I was a nuisance, like he was better than me. I was always polite and respectful to him. I apologized profusely for asking questions. I never called his office, requested meetings, or took up extra time. I filled out paperwork on time. Yet he acted like I was disgusting. While filling out paperwork to close the property, I was trying not to cry but a few quiet sobs escaped me. He sat stone faced across from me, sighed, and rolled his eyes. There were never any words of comfort, never any condolences, never any prayers. Just displays of annoyance and superiority. I would never recommend Larry Martin to anyone. Even though it's been 12 years, I still see his signs around town and they remind me of how small Larry made me feel. I'm doing great by the way, and own a home worth 5 times what my old home was worth.

The initial home consultation with Paul was great. He had tons of samples and showed us many options and gave recommendations based on our needs. There was never any pressure to buy and he spent quite a bit of time going over the whole process and answering all our questions and concerns. We decided a few days later to go with FCI based on our meeting and the fact that their prices were competitive with the other quotes we received. Then things turned South. We were told it would take about 2-4 weeks to get the carpet from the factory. After a month, they contacted us and said that the factory was still back ordered and it would be another month. They were very apologetic and ended up removing the cost of moving the furniture from our bill. The carpet order finally arrived and we were set up for an install on November 3rd. The installers came out and had most of the old carpet ripped out and the new carpet pad laid and started to bring in the new carpet. They started to unroll the carpet and lo-and-behold - not the carpet I ordered! I took pictures and called Erick and explained the situation. He was very sympathetic to our situation and even offered a good discount on this carpet if that was an option for us. It was a nice carpet but we were set on getting the carpet we ordered so declined the offer. We had to live for a month on our 1st floor with only carpet pads for flooring. Not fun! They reordered the carpet and installed it on December 5th. The installation went without a hitch and the carpet looks great. Here's the best part. Sharee negotiated with Shaw Carpets and got them to pay for half of the cost of the carpet. Even though this whole situation had nothing to do with the people at FCI, they offered to cover the cost of the other half. How great is that? Would I recommend this company to my friends and family? You bet! If I need more carpet or flooring in the future you can be sure that they'll be the first ones I call. Thanks Sharee and Erick! It was great doing business with you.

The USPS insists on putting Apt 107 instead of unit 107. My address was provided to you on Monday, but nobody was concerned about my apartment like home until 15 minutes before my appointment. I do not live in an apartment like condo. My condo building is three stories high and I live in a townhouse styled condo that is three stories and an end unit. My AC compressor that is located on the roof is easily accessible to tenants and service technicians. The lack of knowledge by the woman that called to cancel, her supervisor and the technician is an internal problem and not something a conversation with me will solve. If I ran Vredevoogd I would be looking for three new qualified employees. Your employee seem to lack knowledge on very basic information about electric central AC and heating systems and AC compressor located on the roof instead of being ground level. I was without AC for three days. Thank God another company fit me in that same afternoon. They diagnosed and fixed the problem in 45 minutes. Three days without AC in 90 plus temperatures and it could have been many more because Vredevoogd canceled 15 minutes before my appointment.

Nate came out to give us a quote, and quickly expanded the scope of what they would "need" to do. The quote was separated into two sections, as per conversation with Nate: (1) need to do before winter to stop leaking and limit damage already incurred, and (2) improvements that we could make in the spring. We agreed to part #1 in October, to include work on the flashing around our chimney, the single most important piece of the work required. Over a month went by and I heard nothing until the third time I reached out for an update, at which point I was assured the work had been done - no photos, no notice they were on my property, the only evidence that they'd been on my property was pieces of scaffolding they left behind in my yard. In January, on my first trip to the home since work had been "done", I was able to see very obviously from the ground the work had not been completed as described. I emailed with photo evidence of internal water damage and flashing clearly protruding, completely unconnected to the chimney. I did not hear back for over a month. When they finally got back to me, they claimed the flashing - the single most important part of the work that I was repeatedly assured would be part of the work completed - was not, in fact, included the $4,000 bill. They provided (finally) photos of other work that had been done. After multiple days of back and forth, I was offered $200 off to apparently make up for being lied to and the internal damage done to my house for them not doing the work they swore up and down they'd do before the winter set in. Thanks for nothing, you clowns.

We worked with Dana who during this part was great. The workers who came to do the actual work were great and worked so hard. They worked on a Saturday. There was some challenges in communicating about finishing the project. The screen door was left untouched. We were told that Premier would be in touch and they were the next week. We were told that they were unsure why the door was not put on. Dana came out and asked for payment which we honored however in hindsight we should have asked to wait to pay the balanced as the work was not completed. We wonder if we had done this if Premier might have worked harder to complete our project!? We received the run around for weeks. Someone came out to put the new door on and found the door missing parts and a part broken. Then it was several more weeks before it was finished all and all from the last day of work until it was completed on 1/9/25. It was nearly eight weeks to complete the project. We were not fully informed of the final time someone came out. Still then it was discovered that there was more work to be done. Again, the quality of work was great. The communication and taking full responsibility was very much lacking. We asked for a new door as that was what we paid for and were given a response about if a part was missing on a car we would not recieve a new car. However, we paid for the new door. Patti D

We did the smart thing and got another quote. THAT guy said most of those things didn't need to be done, our light was NOT a fire hazard and was completely up to code, and that the rebates from the utility companies would be $175. His quote was about a thousand less than VerWys's. When we called the VerWys guy again to see what he'd say, he backpedalled so hard he was going lightyears in reverse! Knocked off 2 grand from the initial quote, but we'd heard enough. Not gonna do business with a guy who tries to take us for a ride by pulling numbers out of his @$$.

The next day, Will reached out and told me that because the damage was so minor, he and his boss (I believe his name is Mark) would be able to come over the next day to make the necessary repairs. It was the same story with the same result. Only when I demanded my down payment back that I got a call. He told me that the new time frame would be within the first two weeks of November. Well...Same story, same results. They are not calling me back and I fear that we are going into winter where the job cannot be done. I am to the point of calling the BBB as well as Kent County if I cannot get my down payment back. This is fraud if they insist on keeping my money for services never rendered. I am so through with them.
