I lost my job over a year ago and was having to sell out and move in with family. Moving from a…read moretwo bedroom mobile to a bedroom in my son's small apartment meant I had to get rid of a lot. I had a bad experience with a Recycler ad and no one in the area selling used furniture was buying due to the economy. I found out about Hoarders through word of month in my park and called. They arrived on time, took everything and were done in a flash. This is a GREAT organization. They are nonprofit and unlike most thrift stores, they GIVE the items you donate to needy families. Hannah was wonderful and really cares about helping her community. Their motto is they give Junk a Purpose. They'll take most anything and can make some repairs if stuff is broken. Clothes, shoes, furniture, kitchen electronics and dishes, TVs, toys, etc. go to help families with nothing. They are certified to take e-wastes, too, and pick up is free. They could even use your help with bottle/can recyclables to help pay for their gas. If you have anything to donate, chose Hoarders and do some good!!!

Both myself and my daughter…read morecalled, (the "are too busy to care for kitties AND answer the phone, so please send a text"), so we texted, created an account online (because they want to know you're "actually serious" about adopting before you can even MEET the cat you're considering adopting.) (I do understand and respect prioritizing the mental health of the cats, but I'm sure the cats, especially the adults, would prefer a compromise, like being required to fill out a one page form on the spot before meeting). Every serious adopter that goes into a pet store and sees one of this organization's animals that they are interested in adopting and is told they have to go through this and this and this step before they can even interact with the cat and know if the personality is a fit. Everyone loses out. In my experience, even if you do go through all the steps, they won't call you back, and a cat that could have had a home I know had that opportunity taken from them because of the seemingly righteous or superior attitude of the rescue people. They surely know how many people go in and out of those cat and kitten rooms at the Animal Friends of the Valley shelter. Having a few people go in one at a time to meet one particular cat, I don't feel, is any more dangerous or unhealthy for the cat than them losing the opportunity to be adopted and eventually being put down. I just don't understand rescues like this. If you're too small to actually help, then let somebody else do it.

Mindy provided a very personable, warm and extremely responsive service, made every effort to respond to my inquiry on Adopt-A-Pet and approving my application as well as just answering my questions and chatting with me about my potential cat baby's personality traits and his background story. She responded to emails as late as 11PM on a weekend and her demeanor was always welcoming and reassuring, like an old, caring friend. Mindy's words and actions convey that she truly truly love all of her rescued cat babies and she only wants what's best for them and she works extremely hard to find them good homes. I was very sad that neither cat babies from her rescue matched the particular personality I was looking for (I was trying to fill this big hole in my heart with the tragic loss of a stray cat named Cookie I cared for) and I really wished that given all the hard work she and her daughter put into, I'd adopt either Teddy or Khabib. Despite these big, affectionate sweet boys were not the best match I was searching for, I don't think any less of them, I sincerely hope they will find their forever home they deserve and I cannot be more grateful for Mindy's time, patience and understanding she's extended me and my family. If I had more capacity for an additional cat baby in the future after finding THE ONE, Mindy and her rescue is the first place I'd check out. If you are also searching for your feline soulmate, please look no further!!

Have you ever looked at pics of yourself that are old and realize you still have those clothes? Same clothes in all the pics. The people who work here are super sweet! Apparently, on the last Friday of every month they have a $2.00 sale of all clothing except the boutique items. I am so happy! I am about to go home and donate half of my clothing... I buy an item... I get rid of an item. Kinda like chicken math lol . This is also a fundraising event for school kids so there is that also. Come out and support by either spending or donations.

I was greeted immediately and given a "tour" around this cozy clothing boutique. They have many different styles of clothing both professional and going out on the town. I like that they actually have sizes for full figured women. There is even a little section of cute bathing suits. The fitting room door is super cute and will make you feel fancy with the sparkling silver door. They have many accessories that are also quite different than you will see anywhere else. I found a really cute skirt that I am going to use as a summer strapless dress. After asking permission to take pictures I found out that she was actually the owner. This store was named Kevi10 in honor of her daughter that was born with special needs. Joanna decided to open a non profit business that could facilitate people with special needs being gainfully employed. I think that is a true for blessing to do for others. There are many reasons to shop at this boutique but helping her to provide a dream of having a real job to someone who most wouldn't hire to me is amazing! The other awesome thing is that this is also a pickup spot for people who order from "Wish". There is also a place next door that does that so be careful to check the address. Opened in Fall 2021, Elder Love is a little hole in the wall with super friendly staff, an awesome playlist, and (as it's street name would suggest) an eclectic mix of vintage and current brands. The assortment of clothes was small as of November 2021. But it was a nice mix of vintage designer and cool trendy styles, for both men and women. For such a small space, it also packs in a wonderful assortment of pictures and artwork, furniture, and dish-ware. It's location is also ideal for a multi-store trip. You can hit Elder Love, Collector's Corner, Goodwill, and the ACS Discovery Store in rapid succession since they are all 5 mins away or less from each other. Flash 50% sales in Mondays. While checking through the shelves, Frank, who worked in that area, asked me if he could help. After explaining how the section was organized, when the newest ones came in, etc., he took information on the book I was searching for and promised to hold it for me if it came in. After several return visits later, he advised me that it hadn't shown up yet. A few weeks later I found it at home and let them know. I was very appreciative that Frank had been kind enough to keep an eye out for me.
